shahreen, I made your type of chicken and baked potatos today, but I put a whole big lemon in the marinade, it tasted a bit bitter while cooking, so I put some yoghurt into it. Never the less it was yummy.
Glad you liked it Saadia, I guess it was my fault for not posting quantities etc. I must confess, I stole this recipe from Jamie Oliver but I'm sure he won't mind.
Fraudz, I'm making your recipe tonight. I'm going to cook it with a couscous salad. I'll let you know how it goes.
what is thyme ![]()
thyme, is a herb, you should get it in any spice sortiment store.
shahreen, it doesnt matter, as saying goes "pratice makes the master" :)
I tried the recipe lst night.
but instead of olive oil I used balsamic vinegar and it was aweeeeeeeeeeesome!
Glad everyone seems to be loving the recipe. Muniya I'll have to try it with the vinegar.....I have loads of different kinds of vinegar at home but I only use them salads. I'll give your method a try.
Can you actually marinade the chicken in Yougurt and then cook as against baking?
I have just finised marinading two chickens and wanna see if I should bake everything or cook and bake. Quick answers required cause the food needs to be on the table in 7 hours :).
My ingredients for marrinating were lots of yougurt, red pepper, salt, thyme (or something that looked like it :)), and galic salt.
Plan to keep it there for about three hours and then bake. But if I can cook it in a pot as well let me know.
thanks.
baking works too.. but usually if you have chicken breasts its easier to grill.
ufff.. I was asking can you cook in a pot. to me grill and bake are about the same thing. Done in an oven or over a bbq grill.

lots of yogurt?? I hope it's not too much. You only need enough to lap it on the whole chicken. Also, did you make deep cuts in the pieces?? Do it if you haven't already. It will help the chicken pieces absorb the spices...And no, you don't need to do both cooking and baking, just bake the chicken in oven at 300 degrees(later at 200-250 degrees)..You can do that after 2-3 hours of marinating the chicken...

barak they kyoon ho..
Yes you could still cook it in a pot but you'll have a thick sauce with the chicken. If you grill or bake it you end up with a nicely browned surface.
