NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

They are far braver women than I :D

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

ooo u kno wwat i realized.. this is the first time, a "women only" thread doesn't have any men in it :D

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

this thread is just painful. enough to make me rethink the whole joys of motherhood thing. first painful period, painful labour n then painful breast feeding.. eeek.
men r so lucky :disgust:

p.s: so the production of milk stops on its own as soon as u stop breast feeding? how does it work?

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

more pain suroor, sry. First they fill up so much they are like bricks, can't sleep on your back or front and even on your side hurts, then finally about a week later they stop swelling and start going down.

btw - don't sneeze while doing this, they start leaking madly

AND you want to kill any guy who even so much as thinks about touching you during that period too.

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

well you guys just made me re-think the idea of breastfeeding  naah i’m still going to try it next time. It is extremely painful though !!! :teary1:

Do you guys remember couple of years ago a mother was breastfeeding her 7 yr old !!! I just can’t imagine…

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

why is being a woman so physically painful???

couldn’t this whole process of reaching maturity, initial sexual relations (and then later, if the guy doesn’t care to make it right), pregnancy, giving birth, breastfeeding be any less pain full???

 :grumpy: :disgust:

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

I was reading book by aap.org

Error | AAP .

It is very good book. Also it says pain is for first 2-3 sucking and then it goes away. For teething baby book says you should let baby chew on cold towel and then feed the baby.
I think I am just going to try my best. I am sure you all did too. I hope your lil bundle of joys are fine in best of health.

++++++++++No one has mention the name of the Express milking pump++++++++++

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

minah_pa: Did you try expressing milking your breast with they were so full?

Saimanyc: That is what i read that everytime you see your baby in hospital try to feed. What is so painful about breastfeeding? Sucking of baby?

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

lol i dont want lil monsters biting me either

so wat exactly is a pump?

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

Ilovemybaby:I had the medela electric pump. would definitely recommend it! Also i did have a hand pump, just in case :)

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

yaar baby kar lo… khud hi pata chal jayee ga

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

Ilovemybaby - I did. I created enough milk to feed a small army. When I was breastfeeding, I really never had to pump, I would hold an empty bottle under the one the baby wasn't on and the darn thing would leak about 5-6 ounces. I felt like a cow, bad enough I was always very well-endowed, at that point, I was huge and it was all milk. I had a 30 inch waist and a 42DD chest, hated the stares. Yuck.

I loved breastfeeding because it was an awesome way to bond and it was a fresh supply all the time for the baby, but everything else about it I hated. Oh yeah, the quick weight loss wasn't bad either.

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

When you try to wean and you have engorgement, expressing milk will defeat the purpose. Milk production relies on a supply and demand system. So the more you take out, the more you produce. If nothing is taken out, then nothing will be produced. So the only way to really ‘dry up’ is to not take anything out at all, even though expressing would ease some of the pain.

What makes bf so painful in the beginning? Usually improper latch on, but it’s really just that you haven’t toughened up yet.

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

^^ lol

It's that toughening up part that takes so long. I didn't express a feeding, usually just enough so I could sleep and decrease the pressure to bearable. Couldn't take Advil or Tylenol, so was really hurting. I would wake up crying sometimes if I moved while sleeping, that was worse than childbirth.

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

Do you have a Babies R Us close to where you live? I would recommend going there and getting the free info they have at there registry desk, i used to work there and not only do they have free magazines with lots info but the associates are well informed on anything and everything there is to know about what you will need for the baby from the age of infant to toddler. You should also read BABY magazin online. :-) Sajal mentioned electric and that's the best way to go, the hand held ones always get negative feedback. Either Medela or Playtex pumps get great reviews and feedback, again I would ask the assoicates working at the baby store . Best wishes.

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

the things these ppl r talking about, I dont think i want one anymore :stuck_out_tongue: I thought pain ended after childbirth :bummer:

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

I thought the pain ended after childbirth too.

But anyway.... so is the breast pump needed as long as you breastfeed?

Re: NEED BREASTFEEDING TIPS(women only plz)

^Neera
I only needed it in the beginning. If u wanted to pump
and store the milk for later then u would need it throughout.
