I just realized that I have blackheads on my nose and since I don’t do my eyebrows, I look somewhat messy and I have been busy and lazy lately so I just do threading for my upperlips superficially so that’s a problem too! I never had a facial in my life so I have no idea what it is and if it’s something that I can do at home!
Right now I wash my face once a day with neutrogena deep clean cleanser that I don’t leave on my skin for more than 5 secs before washing it away and tahts it, I have never done anything else for my face!
Can someone please give me once a week no more than 5-10 mins routine to get rid of dead skin, blackheads on my nose, make myself presentable, and look fresh? please
You can use them in the shower. Spend a minute or two massaging into the skin (concentrating on blackhead areas) and then wash off.
I have Olive oil in a little dropper bottle and I massage a single drop on my cheeks before sleeping (after makeup removal and face washing) instead of normal moisturiser; my skin has been looking really good since I started that - I needed to post about this.
I’m going to give the Olay regenerist a try. I thought the only thing that works on my pores are regular facials, but those are getting too pricey these days. Thanks stoppit.
GTG, you can do a facial at home. What you need are a cleanser, moisturizer, exfoliating scrub, and a mask. You’ll need to do some research and a bit of trial and error as to what works best on your skin, but once you figure out the right products for you, here are the steps to follow:
This site does say that you should do this once a week, but I’m not sure about that…I’ve heard that facials are a once a month thing. Anybody got any information on that?
You need exfoliation into your routine GTG and def a moisturizer. You'll need one based on u're skin-type. I've heard great reviews about the thermal one stoppit has mentioned.
I'd add-in an eye-cream to the routine at night as well, to prevent any fine lines from forming anytime soon.
The Olay one is pretty good, I use it most days (some days I skip and use a mild foaming facewash).
The Estee Lauder one is really good though. I use it about once a week. Before her wedding, my cousin left it really late for facials etc, when she went for one, it hardly made any difference. Anyways, she was at my house for a makeup trial but was like 'wth! i can't work on this' and took her into the bathroom. I thoroughly cleansed her face with the EL product and even I was amazed with the results. Her nose which was covered in blackheads was as clean as a whistle.
As for Olive Oil.. you need cold pressed extra virgin.. you may have this in your cupboard.
I have also been using it to remove eyemakeup (on a cotton pad). A little messier than eyemakeup remover but it does the job, plus I wash my face afterward anyway so it all comes off. After washing my face, I then get 1 drop (it's in a dropper bottle with an inbuilt pipette) on a finger, rub this onto the opposite finger and then rub the two fingers onto my cheeks. I do it again for around the eyes too. I've been doing it for about 3-4 weeks and my skin is softer and smoother as well as feeling well moisturised (I haven't been needing to fuss with dry bits after showering in the morning).
I think staying away from chemical cleansers and using natural oils for moisturising at night will help fine lines from forming more than anything else.
Wash and cleanse u're face and wait for an hour, using a single-ply tissue dab it on different parts of u're face. If u see lots of stains then it's oily..if it's oily around the forehead, nose and chin then it's 'combination'. If it feels very taught and parched then it's dry.
For oily skin cleansers with mint, cucumber, aloe, tea-tree, witch hazel, citrus extracts works the best.
For dry skin, almond oil..oatmeal, honey and creamy cleansers work best.
