So i am one of those unfortunate ppl who won’t be taking advantage of the night of laila tul qadr due to the stupid monthly crap. I was really looking forward to this night. Kher its something i can’t control.
I want to know if it’s okay for me to make wudu and just do zikr, recite durood shareef, and all the surahs i know and make dua without actually praying???
I'm in the same position. Like TLK said, doing wudu won't really make any difference as it won't be valid. I'm just going to do the Tasbeeh, Zikr and lots of Du'a for myself & everyone. Keep in mind, it's the best you can do in a position your in, without choice - :)
Sister, that is what I heard that you should not even read Quran by memory in this case.. but your niyyat will reward you with a great sawaab inshallah ..
'Abdullah ibn 'Umar relates that Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, "A menstruating women or a seminally defiled personshould not recite any part of the Qur'an. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Sunan al-Bayhaqi)
There are also other hadiths transmitted by Imam Daraqutni, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Ibn Maja, Abu Dawud, Ibn Hibban, Hakim and others in this regard (See Nasb al-Raya].
Another hadith found in the Muwatta of ImamMalik states that **"Only a person in the state of purity should touch the Qur'an." **This hadith has been transmitted by many other hadith scholars as well.
'Allama Zayla'i has discussed the hadiths pertaining to these questions thoroughly in his Nasb al-Raya. 1:194199.
She just should not offer salat, fast, enter the masjid or touch Quran.
The evidence for not touching the Qur'an in menstrual period is the saying of Allah: {Which (that Book with Allâh) none can touch but the purified} [56: 79]
She can recite kalma, listen to Quran, adhan, make her duas attend an islamic lecture.~!
The part of Masjid that is Prayer Hall comes under the proper definition of Masjid. There are other places in mosque where on can sit and listen to the lecture
I have seen some religious women put on gloves to hold and read Quran during menstruation. And they say it's allowed. Can somebody please confirm if this is right?
Sorry for such a late reply. When i was in masturat jamat, then i heard from many Alimas that in this condition one should make wudhu, face qibla can sit on the musalla and recite this "Subhanaka astaghfirullahallazi laa ilaha illa howal hayyul qayyumu wa atubu ilaih"70 times at the time of every salah. The reward for this is equivalent to something to the effect of making 100 nafl salah. This zikr is only recommended for the ladies during her cycle.I have also seen in one of the masnoon duas.I can;t give you proper reference but inshAllah try to find it out from my Alima friends or may be through my Mahram from an aalim.
p.s Please try to recite it with the correct tajweed which you should be able to find in a book of masnoon duas .
Even i have heard from couple of Aalimas that in this condition we cannot read Quran with the intention of tilawat but with the intention of dua,for example before going to sleep in the night we recite Ayatalkursi,Surah Fatiha,Ikhlas,Falaq,Naas so we can make intention of dua..The best thing you should do is contact your local Aalim or Aalima.Allah swt knows best.
