I need it to take to pakistan (at the moment I use a desk top) I Will be using it for personal use only I guess…

for personal use, I am assuming Internet, email, simple word processing and some media saving and playback. Dell has a mini series that comes with XP. My sister just bought Dell mini 12 (its an inspiron). She is liking it cause its very portable and easy to handle. I dont know the UK price but its about 450 dollars in US

Inspiron is for losers, .. its bakwass laptop, ..get too much heated .. and specially Garmi of pakistan .. will make it "Cholha" .. anyway.. enjoy

I guess if tht makes me a looser an everyone else who uses it a looser so be it......

Bibi Jee... Intel Code 2 Duo..is available from last 2 years .. .so yes who is going to get inspiron is a loser.

the whole series of inspiron is made for losers... cheap, junky, get hot like tawaa..

Don’t worry, we have Mitsubishi's Mr. Slim 1.5 ton in every corner of the place, where I am intended to stay. And the place has generac generators.. so no electricity failure issue either..:D

I just got a new Sony Vaio for 450 from Ebay, normal price double that, got a nice big 17" screen, blu-ray and 400gb hard drive. It's quite heavy tho. Used to have a Samsung Q45 with a tiny 12" screen that was super portable and nice and fast as well but gave me sooooo many problems after about a year, spent more than I paid for it on repairs lol, wouldn't charge up, connector needed resoldering, new hard drive and then finally 'operating sytem not found.' I've lost all my files, hundreds of photos and videos :(

I have an HP Pavillion and I've been extremely happy with it. 2 years in and I haven't had any problems with it (Masha'Allah).

Every person had a different preference. Sony laptops are great, but more pricey. HP laptops are just as great, but more reasonably priced.

I would never recommend a toshiba though.

Yep I have a HP Pavillion too but I kinda made a mistake going for the one I did cos although its a beautiful looking laptop, its glossy so gets grubby very quickly (fingerprints ukh!). Also, wouldn’t advise buying a 17" which mine is as it kinda gets annoying carrying around after a bit :bummer: But its a personal choice. I would recommend HP though.

DELL MINI sucks!! big time! i purchased it and returned it the very nxt day. resolution was very low and I was unable to view some applications on it even after resizing and all.

firenze is right…it heats up quickly and is an overall nuisance! also it was too tiny for my liking.

i just purchased the HP pavillion Dv3z (13") …I love it!!
it is glossy and gets a lot of fingerprints on it…but still worth it regardless.

it is a thin and light weight laptop. I added the backlit keyboard option and the slot-load drive as oppose to the tray-load drive.

khair I didn’t order the mini, lets see how it is when it arrives if i dont like it, I will return it
