I would recommend either the Xbox 360 or PS3. I myself went with the 360 because of the Microsoft franchises (well mostly Halo). It’s also got a good selection of RPGs. PS3 has many of the same games, with quite a few exclusives. If you don’t really care about either console’s exclusives, then the PS3 has the advantage of free online gaming. The other thing I would look at is which controller you find more comfortable. I personally like the XBox one better but everyone has their own preference.

To be honest my last console was a SNES. Since then it has been the PC. Personal preference is Single player due to the lack of a net connection. FPS and RPGs are what i am aiming for. No particular franchise or specific games. Looking for good games that help kill time.

xbox 360 for sure. better exclusives than PS3 and a much better controller.

Well, XBox 360 and PS3 both have their share of FPS and RPGs, though I’m personally more inclined towards the XBox 360. For FPS, the 360 has Halo while the PS3 has Killzone as exclusive. I’m a big RPG fan myself, and I’m happy with my purchase (360 over PS3). The PS3 has the advantages of free online gaming and a larger storage medium. Babloos could probably tell you more about the notable exclusives on the PS3.

also xbox 360 controller is best for FPS triggers are just awesome.it doesn’t feel right to play with shoulder buttons on ps3
but i prefer ps3 controller for adventure,hack and slash,fighting games,xbox 360 controller buttons are so hard where as ps3 buttons are easy to perform combos for games like ninja gaiden,bayonetta,tekken,assassin’s creed e.t.c,plus the dpad suks on xbox 360

list keeps on going all of this games are quality stuff,sony has 20 first party studios,they keep on deilivering new games on other hand microsoft releases a gears or halo each year with some forza motorsport and fable inbetween.but having said that multiplatform games looks better on xbox 360 but nowadays there are almost same.if ur an jrpg fan xbox 360 has 2 awesome games,blue dragon and lost odyssey. lost odyssey is best jrpg game i have played these gen.btw ps3 exclusives games graphically looks much better then xbox 360

I’d get a new XBox 360 slim myself, if I had that much money to spend on a console. I’d go with the Halo Reach Limited Edition console.

PS3 is a wise choice brotherman. Online gaming is brilliant on PSN. Plus, although people say it is negligible, I’d still say there is a noticeable difference in graphics. Plus for some reason I like PS3’s controllers better. Xbox ones are too bulky for my liking.

yup ps3 controller is better.but i still love xbox 360 controller for shooters,it has realistic feeling with triggers.where as it feels so artificial with shoulder buttons on dual shock.
btw i think online is much better on xbl then psn.userbase is much more on xbl compare to psn,but it depends on friends circle.whichever platform you got ur friends playing.
also psn use to suck few years back.with each patch they ripped out xbl from trophies or in game chat,lol you couldn’t even see whats ur friends are playing before

It’s a matter of preference. I personally find the XBox 360 controller to be more comfortable to use.

its depends on games,most of the time xbox 360 controller performs better.but for old school hack and slash games/button smashers
its really painfull with xbox 360 controller buttons are so hard to pull of comboscompare to dual shock,especially for games like ninja gaiden,bayonetta,tekken,sould calibur,devil may cry
iam of big fan of these games .except ninja gaiden(sigma sucks on ps3) remain all the games i prefer to play with dual shock.it’s much easier to pull of combos with dual shock,
on other hand i really hate ps3 controller for shooters especially if ur used to xbox 360 controller

Well, the only comparison I can really make is Devil May Cry. I have DMC3 on PS2, and DMC4 on XBox 360. I prefer the controls on the 360 by far, though I can still play on the Ps2.

dmc4 was exception,even i like xbox contoller.i played on pc with xbox controller,try bayonetta with xbox controller it sucks totally

I’ve played the Bayonetta demo with the XBox 360 controller and I liked it. It was just the demo though.
