**KARACHI.: Skipper Raihan Hakim and Irfan Khan Lodhi hammered brisk half centuries to help Pakistan’s NED University of Engineering and Technology chalk up a 67-run win over Christ University of India their opening Group ‘A’ match of the International Inter-varsity cricket tournament at the UKM Oval cricket ground on Friday. **
According to information available here, NED University scored 215 for nine in the stipulated 50 over after captain Raihan won the toss and elected to bat first.
The NED innings revolves around Raihan (66) and Irfan (56).
Varun and Jasmeet snapped up three wickets apiece while Ankit took two.
In return, the Indians were bundled out for 148 in 40 overs with pacer Jibran Shahzad taking five for 35 in eight overs – an effort which earned him Man-of-the-Match award. Raihan took two for 16.
This was Indian team’s second successive defeat as they have already lost to the hosts.
NED will play their next match against University Kebangsaan of Malaysia on Sunday. Six teams from India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Pakistan are participating in the contest.
Group A: NED University of Engineering and Technology Pakistan, Christ University India and University Kebangsaan.
Group B: University of Western Australia, University of Colombo and National University of Singapore.

After reading the topic, I thought some NEDian achieved some milestone related to "engineering" and "technology". Turned out it was in Rashid Latif and Saeed Anwar, I mean, cricket. :D
