What is the scientific/medical explaination for out-of-body experiences? People who have near-death experiences often claim to have watched their body die, have met deceased relatives etc. Is the NDE phenomena even real or just a myth?

I am curious too actually...google brings up some interesting reading on this

too many beans and weak digestive system.
Re: Near-death Experience (NDE)
Don’t know about NDE. But there are some things which are inexplicable. My mother saw her mother meeting dead relatives in her dreams, even though she was far away and nobody told her.
I had a topic on it:

Re: Near-death Experience (NDE)
There are people who claim to have experienced out of body experience.
Very difficult to refute them or even prove their assertion when one talks to them.
And then there are so many who actually do come back from near death event and say they did not have any whatsoever out of body experience.
Hence it is not known who actually ges these experience, and why some are so sure but others did not experience.
Re: Near-death Experience (NDE)

Re: Near-death Experience (NDE)
Science doesn't explain "spirit", how can it explain "near death" experiences?

Re: Near-death Experience (NDE)
I remembering reading a report on people who claimed they had watched themselves being operated on (whilst unconscious) and after the operation could tell the doctor everything he said, what he did and all the details of the operation.
I'm sure there's a scientific explanation but it is quite interesting.
