The National Defence College (NDC) in Rawalpnid that is the cradle of the Army’s, and often PAF and PN’s, higher command, was elevated to the status of a University last year or so and is now therefore National Defence University (NDU).
It is a highly regarded institution.
Recently it was in the news for the Land Forces Symposium held at the NDU on 11 & 12 April hosted jointly by Pakistan Army and the US Army. It was attended by 22 senior military commanders from 22 countries. The theme was‘Common Security and the Global War on Terror’.

The symposium was addressed by various commanders, as well as President General Pervez Musharraf and PM Shaukat Aziz.
This was a major news from the symposium.

The NDU website is inaccessible. Anyway, the NDU should hold more seminars, and more civilians military and strategic analysts’ involvement in training programs, research etc would certainly benefit all.
