I was just basing my response on my parents experience who are dual citizens and have had pakistan and Uk govt offer them assistance when they were stuck in nigeria, and even being dual citizens now, anytime things go a little dodgy in pak they are contacted by UK consulate etc. but then thats a small sample size so they can be the rule or exceptions to teh rule :D
