We had like 8 platoons…
I did the NCC from Delhi Govt. College when it used to be in Karimabad. I heard it is now moved to Hussainabad…
Anyway… so, before the flyover and passover and etc., there used to be a Karimabad Bridge on Shaharah-e-Pakistan in front of the college. Under the bridge used to be a ground, in which APWA Girls College was also located :halo:
So, early in the morning around 7:00 AM, 8 of our platoons used to run around the ground for hour, hour and a half as a starting drill…
One day, when we were running as usual, our platoon leader (A Jamiat student - respected as Maulana saahab) took a wild turn and speed up the running… We followed as the good military subordinates :halo:
While running and crossing the other platoons, he gave some kind of signal to other platoons’ leaders as well and they all started to run in synchronization and soon the eight platoons had completely encircled the whole ground… Some good disciplinary cedits we were ![]()
And then, our platoon leaders raised the slogan: “Naaraa-e-Takbeer” We replied with the same enthusiasm and much louder voice “Allahu Akbar!!!” …
Our Fauji instrustors right away saw our plan that we had successfully executed and in few minutes we were ALL crawling towards the other end of the ground on the burning sand ![]()
Our leaders never repeated the mistake of circling around college girls after that, who were coming to the classes early in the morning passing that ground ![]()
Saheeh baata hai, gehaa’ooN kaY saath ghun bhee pistaa hai ![]()
Re: NCC - A walk down the memory lane
I did NCC at Islamabad H-9 college for straight 1 month.
The rooms were trash, food was rubbish, it was hot as hell and on top of that we used to do parade in morning and play football or cricket in evenings. After the NCC i became so skinny and dark that my relatives cud nto recognize me.

With most of us, there was a good distinction in color on the forehead where there was literally a line was created on top of head before the hairline - The line was pretty fair but the skin underneath was totally “load-shedded” ![]()
Re: NCC - A walk down the memory lane
One day, our instructors took a quick quiz…
he started calling people in the group of 7-8 cadets..
In the first group, one of my friends went to answer his question… so the instructor asked:
“Fajar paRhi thee!”
Group: Silence
Instructor: “Jamaat saY NaheeN paRhi thee tau bolonay maiN kiya harj hai kaY ghar maiN tau paRhi ho gee”
Cadets: Ummm (nodding heads in yes/no"
Instructor: “Theek hai, phir kal saY jamaat saY paRhnaa… jaao”
when the group came back and told us what was asked, hum sub naY ghar maiN hee fajar paRh lee thee :halo:
