Lol@ some of the replies . Anyway whats gone be next now?
I saw more clothes out on lower-field at my campus in summer here in montreal than i did in those photos!!
I KNEW is should’ve stayed in pakistan for university!! ![]()
Nice Chickz of Amerika:halo:
Let me take this oppurtunity to defend the NCA - The National College of Arts... (and no I am not from NCA)
Most of you have flamed NCA for these pictures... May I remind you that most Pakistani girls abroad have also set new records in such regards. I am not saying all of them have, but many of them have. I have witnessed this myself. I have no problem with that and I am not saying its right or wrong, but when I see the same people complaining, it boils me up.
The NCA is a prestigious instituition, with enormous talent. They have excellent drama societies such as the NAUTANKYE, and have great feats to their names. Some of you would be baflled by their artistic talent; look at the music videos they come up with, especially those Pakistani abroad who have no clue how developed and modernized Pakistan is, and think we still ride around in donkeys there. Has anyone seen Shaoib Mansoor's Ishq video? Even a person like Shaoib Mansoor admits most of the creative work was all thanks to NCA's bright students. Remember 3/3 'teen batta teen'? That was just a small sample of what NCA students are capable of.
I just wish we had more instituitions like NCA in our country!!!
/\ :k: very well said. Sadly art always gets mixed up with our morals and ethics and thus, apreciation for it goes down the drain.
Having said that, I do agree with the person above commenting we should’ve gone to university in Pakistan. God we missed so much. ![]()
I am still trying to figure out whats "art" got to do with wearing skin-tight knee-length skirts and bare-back tops in a fashion-show in Lahore.
NCA's accomplishments notwithstanding (most recent being their transformation of the Food Street in Gwalmandi), this particular fashion show seems to go against everything Pakistan stands for or was intended to stand for as per the "Two Nation Theory". Progress in all fields is fine, but you don't have to take your clothes off to show how much of an "artist" you are. And as some have pointed out that the clothes aren't even that special. Its just that "daring" stuff and the alleged "fact" that this is in NCA Lahore which made it worthy of discussion. If this exact fashion show had been held in a western country, these particular clothes may probably not even invoke a single newspaper article or any discussion. They are fairly ordinary.
Or may be the "true artist" in these clothes is not coming out in these particular pics. Who knows. :)
whatever man. It's art and you're too old to understand it. :)
Very well said Faisal! :k: :k:

Faisal, you fail to understand my point (if you are referring to me)... I am just defending NCA, not this fashion show... Besides, isnt it good to have a university like that in Pakistan, considering most Pakistanis students run away to the US, UK (spending their money there) for something similar to these fashion shows? Why not have these characters study in Pakistan ;) Btw, what does the two nation theory have to do with this? Theres alot more to the two nation theory than just preventing these fashion shows bro.
Don't get me wrong. I think NCA is quite a nice art school. My comments are solely focussed on these pics and this fashion show.
I think this particular fashion show is a poor representation of what is Pakistani culture. Even if Pakistani culture is quite removed from Islamic values, still we don't need to approve of such blantant nakedness and, I personally feel, quite sad commentary on such a fine institution as NCA.
On a side note, NCA and its students were always on the "cutting-edge" of progressive Pakistan, but these particular pics are taking it to new depths. I feel no reason to condone these. Even the dresses are quite ugly.
The Game Responds:
*Damn it, The People's ARTIST needs a return ticket straight to Pakistan. Really. People, That Is All.*

Well, you are right. However, its worth mentioning that the NCA has done a good job portraying our culture, in its right aspect too. The other day, Hamdard University also had a similar fashion show at Islamabad Club, a little less vulgar ;) but on the same tracks. However, Ive heards from friends in Lahore that such fashion shows have become routine, and if you pick up the 'Instep' section of 'The News' on Sunday, all of this can be seen in print.

times have changed a lot in pakistan, especially in larger cities...like i know a friend who has seen some photo sessions of some models...in which the girls even go topless...with the advent of satellite technology things have changed a lot in the perception of how people view things, in the next few years maybe pakistan will cross its neighbour on the east in shedding off clothes...
