NBP job... help !

Assalam-o-aliakum

well, i got the letter today that i have to go to karachi on 3rd march, n will be given the appointment letter on 4th march inshAllah

I want anyone out there to share ur experiences with job in NBP.
this is urgent.

i am concerned abt the 5- year contract. The confusion here is that i might have to go abroad for further studies, it just depends on the visa, as soon as i get the visa, i’ll leave inshAllah. According to the contract, i can leave the job before 5 years, otherwise i’ll have to pay the penalty plus the training cost.

i m just so confused, i need to know if anyone out there has done any job or training in NBP, National Bank of Pakistan.

Share ur Experiences.

Re: NBP job... help !

what kind of job is it, and at what level?

I was at the State Bank of Pakistan on a research assignment last year. My program was short, but well paid and along with accomodation and a car.

The experience was decent, as the people I got to deal with were knowledgeable and helpful. However, it baffled me at times to see how slowly things moved there.

its a permanent job, after three years i will be promoted, and after 6 years... promoted to AVP..... etc etc job is cool, i just want to know that will they give me 2-3 years study leave..... that is the ONLY concern i have at this moment

one more thing, i've to go to karachi for appointment interview ( kind of) can i ask this from the panel there, that can they grant me leave for 3 years for studying abroad? i mean is this ok if i ask this there?

if u know abt this, and their "leaves System" plz let me know

Thanks for the reply

Re: NBP job... help !

I cn speak of the monetary policy and research departments at SBP as they have a pretty accomodating policy regarding further education. SBP offers scholarships/grants for all those who want to pursue higher education, and usually getting a study leave after a couple years of service is not difficult. As far I know, all study leaves are paid.

I have certainly no experience with NBP, but I do think it shouldn't be too difficult. I do know of some departments (ministry of finance etc), where they have an equally lenient policy and all study leaves are paid. If your department is giving you the grant/scholarship, You WILL need to sign a contract for 5 years or so.
