Kobe Bryant's Jump Shot - Excuse Me While I Touch The Sky

Kobe Bryant received huge cheers, made his season debut at the STAPLES Center, scored game-high 21 pts as the LAKERS beat WARRIORS 87-72. The game was kind of slow pace. Most of the time LAKERS defended. And that's the reason LAKERS put only 87 pts. LAKERS should have scored 100+ pts. Oh well, in the end, we got win. That's enough for me. Even Shaq , mah man, felt good but Phil Jackson had little something different to say:

*We didn't play as clean or as pretty basketball as we'd like to see,'' he said. ``We're capable of playing down to a level. That's always difficult because you want a team to play above their level. Some nights you play there and you get mired in a game where you can't break free.'' *

Kobe looked in good shape, and was aggressive to make shots. Gary Payton has been terrific with the ball, pts and assists. Devean George had another game of double-figure. Shaq-Daddy and Karl Malone are the LAKERS rebounds leaders. So, everything is fine in the LaLa Land.

Some more interesting results on the weekend.

The Chicago BULLS has beaten Milwaukee BUCKS. At the half time BULLS were trailing by just 1 pt which later turned into 30 pts deficit. The score was 68-98 in favor of BULLS.

In another game, Memphis GRIZZLES defeated Houston ROCKETS 79-71. Jeff Van Gundy must be disappointed.

No, I did mean Cowboys cause I couldn't find a thread on NFL. I am not sure about Houston Rockets ranking, where do they stand? I hope all Texan teams make to the top this season :D

Bwoy!

Double OT.

Lakers beat Spurs 120 - 117 (Duncan and Parker didnt play). It was an intense game. The competitive level of the players was that shown during playoffs. Both teams started where they left off during last season playoffs. The rivalry is on homies.

Lakers are now 5-0 and have beaten 2 of the 3 top dogs in Western Conference. They are quickly becoming the team to be reckoned with, once again :D

definitely last night game was huge - even though Spurs lost it but moral they won it - good game by both Shaq and Kobe - 72 pts together - the disappointment for Lakers must be Devean George who struggled to score.

[thumb=D]capt.mpt10411060426.kings_timberwolves_mpt104.JPG[/thumb]

T’Wolves had a OT game with Kings - which we lost - a bitter disappointment for us - Mark Madsen proved to be a hot scorer from the bench - tonight KG’s Wolves takes on T-Mac’s Magic..

the match between Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James - the new rivarly in the making as media says :rolleyes: - it was won by the Denver Nuggets - Lebron James Cavs has yet to win a game compare to Carmelo Anthony Nuggets who have their 3 games (2 against the best teams in the NBA) - even though all eyes were on James and Anthony but it was some local kid who had the best night.

[thumb=D]KG.JPG[/thumb]

‘it’s KG… KG’ :dhimpak:

woooo - a good weekend of us - had Orlando and Magic as our meal - :yummy: T’Wolves showed their Magic in Orlando - and took the Heat out of Miami - against Magic we had out tough defence - we restricted Tracy McGrady to only 4 points - PRETTY COOL huh?

Kevin Garnett averages 20 points per game - come on KG - this season’s you could MVP! - there is a good ball movement among the T’Wolves - Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell are making big numbers on assists and rebounds board!

[thumb=D]sam.JPG[/thumb]

**Sam Cassell **

we are 4-3 this season at the moment - hopefully we will improve our standings once Troy Hudson gets recovery from sprained ankle injury.

a tough week for the NBA Champions Spurs - with Tim Duncan out for two more weeks - i think they might wind up at the bottom of Midwest Standings.

LeBron James had his first last night - i still don’t get it why media has so much hype around him and not Carmelo Anthony.

Vince Carter still isn't getting any respect.

With Tracy McGrady complaining about the zone defense i think BDitty(Baron Davis) might be the best player in the NBA so far. Vince Carter will put himself back on the back by the season end.

[thumb=D]kobe.JPG[/thumb]

GIRLS & BEERS - woohoo!

Two weeks have gone by since the season 03-04 started but it seems like the big teams haven't come out as expected before the season. The LAKERS have now bounce back, are 6-2 in the season. After season's high turnovers committed in a loss to Memphis, tonight LAKERS held it to 11 against RAPTORS. While I can understand the loss to HORNETS with No-Rest scenerio, but GRIZZILES' lost got me thinking. It was way to sloppy game by the LAKERS, however, they do able to recovered from the mistakes they did in last game. Still not enough!

[thumb=D]malone_170_031106.JPG[/thumb]

The Mailman runs the court!

As I've seen game by 'The Fantastic Four', there are two flaws that has to be fixed i.e. Turnovers and Free Throws. I don't know what has happened to Shaquille. He has been a perfect FT shooter from the line, though, he has been good from field but this season he's really finding it trouble. Tonight he missed 10 FTs but scored 23 points. Lane Violation flaw which was out of the picture, suddenly come alive! Twice in a game. Shaq is getting his big french cut figure like once he had in 01 season. Could that be the sign of his Big Return? Big fella, you gotta work harder!

[thumb=D]shaqdevean.JPG[/thumb]

Shaq-Devean Defence Held Vince Carter

Karl Malone and Gary Payton have been impressive with the ball. Karl Malone, along with Shaq, leads the rebounds no. and I have no doubt if Malone continues to play like this, he will eventually break the Most-Point-Score barrier of NBA.

Gary Payton, who now seems to be fully understand how Phil Jackson wants him to run the offense ball game if Kobe is unable to play due to off-court issue. Devean George, Derek Fisher have been good. Horace Grant has yet to impress me. Once Rick Fox, Stanislav Medvedenko recovered from injury, our forward will be in much greater strength, and I'll no doubt the LAKERS will have 55-70 wins for the season!

[thumb=D]FlipMurray.JPG[/thumb]

Ronald 'Flip' Murray

Tim Duncan and Tony Parker returns and SPURS are in full flow but the biggest surprise has to be Seattle SUPERSONICS. There's only one MAN who has been impressive, getting the job done, 20 pts in every game for SONICS, and he is Ronald 'Flip' Murray. He has been playing at PG since Ray Allen is out due to injury. That 2-point game-winning shot against TIMBERWOLVES last night was one of the best I've seen. Watch out for Murray, he's for real. With Vladimir Radmanovic, Rashard Lewis already having good season and once Ray Allen is fit, I reckon SUPERSONICS will be one of the good teams to watch; and could be one of the teams from West who could win 50 games this season.

What the hell happened to KINGS? They lost 3 out of 4 games on the road. Man, without Webbie they are no better.

From the East, Indiana PACERS have done it quite well with their new Boss Larry Bird and Coach Rick Carlise on board. Reggie Miller and Jermaine O'Neal getting along with their coach. NETS are doing fine so far but they are behind CELTICS and SIXERS at the moment in the Atlantic Division.

PT homez! Were have you been. Did you by the way see Lakers-Spurs game :D
Since then Lakeshow has lost 2 games. Lakers need to work on their defence man. Too many turnovers and allowing too many points (100+).
That is the only weakness I see so far. Worry not, it will get better. Phil is on their case already.

haha...

No I didn't watch the LAKERS-SPURS game 5Abi. Watched the highlights and that Alley Oop by Byrant on Shaq's assist was awesome! Perfect fitting reply to the booing crowd, :D shows the power of brilliant Kobe-Shaq duo. :D

I've been watching hightlights of all the games and just getting an idea from the scorecards. As of now, I've only watched season-opener game of the LAKERS. Yesterday, I only watched 1st half and that too bits of it. Probably, I'll go to tomorrow's game with the PISTONS and definitely HEAT-LAKERS on Sunday.

Anyway, have you seen the NBA schedule? Man, it's a screw up for every team. Some game dates are utterly non-sense. One day, you are in Toronto, the same day you need to fly to Indiana to play the game. I hope this will be last season that NBA teams face this kinda situation. Hopefully, NBA will be divided into Six Divisions(5 teams apiece) in 04-05 season and the problem will be sorted out.

Yeah I do agree with you that our defence has not been that good. Turnovers cause problem. Those 100+ points came when LAKERS lost and a game with SPURS, otherwise, everything looks fine. Players are getting along, everyone is getting a chance to score points; and Four SuperStars squad are in double figures. What else..hmmmm

Today Kobe had a hearing and his appearance is scheduled for Dec. 19th and Jan 23rd. So, it's not LAKERS are going to miss Kobe this season as I thought we could.

Umair, what a chessy. Whatcya think about me when SPURS lost to LAKERS and I didn't even come to post, huh? Or how about the best offensive team MAVERICKS losing to RAPORTS? Where were you then? :p

If there’s a team who’s going to have first 10 season wins, it has to be THE LAKERS. We’re 8-2 in the season. :roman: {hopefully, LAKERS will reach first than SONICS}

[thumb=D]payton1.JPG[/thumb]

Gary Payton reseverd jump shot againt Detriot PISTONS

Well, the turnovers were again the problems for LAKERS against PISTONS. 16 or 17 something like that but tonight the LAKERS showed it all as we have won now 20 straight consecutive wins(in a league) since Feb, 6th at home. The streak doesn’t matter as much as how we are doing well. Quite frankly, I have yet to see the Oldshow of the LAKERS. I think might take time to gel it al together. This is the first time Kobe, Shaq, Malone and Payton are together in the hunt for a Championship. I am not disappointed neither I am happy with the performance. Nevertheless, the LAKERS are leading the Pacific Divison and that’s very good. We need more wins to have home-court advantage in the playoffs.

[thumb=D]Kobe.JPG[/thumb]

Hey! Kobe Byrant’s up for reserved bucket against Miami HEAT

It was also the 784th regular-season victory for Phil Jackson, moving him into a tie for 11th on the NBA’s career list with Gene Shue. Overall, PJ has a record of 784-292(Wins-Lose), and has coached nearly 600 fewer games than Gene Shue did.

[thumb=D]IA3.JPG[/thumb]

Allen Iverson against SPURS’ defensive players Tony Parker and Bruce Bowen

[thumb=D]IA21.JPG[/thumb]

Allen Iverson collides with Robert Horry but still makes a shot!

[thumb=D]IA11.JPG[/thumb]

Allen Iverson stick out his tongue as SIXERS beat SPURS. 100-96

Did anyone catch the SIXERS-SPURS game on Saturday? Man, Allen Iverson never gives up. Against Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Bruce Bowen, Robert Horry, he went alone and did what it seem impossible at one point when SIXERS were trailing 12-15 points in the thrid qtr. Good game by A.I. Eric Snow Co. but the fun spoiled the other day in Denver when SIXERS lost to NUGGETS. Again, I say every team faces this kinda situation. It’s ugly.

Few words for Tracy McGrady. Man, can it get more worst than this? 9th straight loss to whom we called the L.A CLIPPERS last night. A night before, MAGIC lost to NUGGETS with 3/4 pts despite T-Mac’s 51 pts effort. I don’t think MAGIC will make it to the playoffs this season and no matter how much the MAGIC organization will pay T-Mac, he ain’t coming back next season unless MAGIC put some decent guys in the roaster to level the balance.

SUPERSONICS are doing very well. Just 2 loss so for them. 7-2 at the moment. A perfect start for them. Mr. Flip has been a jackpot for them. TRAILBLAZERS shocked the KINGS on Thursday. DAMN, you have 25 pts lead in the thrid and then lost the game. It’s terrible. However, with two back-to-back, the KINGS have improved their standings. With LAKERS, KINGS are unbeaten at home.

p.s. Karl Malone shot the worst FT ever in his entire career in the game against PISTONS. DAMN, the ball died in the air and never reached the rim. Shaquille had a smile on his face{Considering that he’s not worst at FT shooting :hehe:}

San Antonio visits L.A on 28th. I’m gonna go for it!

[thumb=D]RonRick.JPG[/thumb]

Ron Artest listens to his coach Rick Charlisle

A very good start of the season for the Indiana PACERS. They have won every game on the road, though losing two at home, but as of now, they have the best NBA record. And a lot credit goes to Coach Rick Charlisle who keeps his eyes close on each move of the PACERS' player. Rick has turned combination of Jermaine O'Neal and Reggie Miller in a dynamic duo. Ron Artest is leading figure from the PACERS' roaster. Rick was fired last season by the Detriot PISTONS club when they were swept off by the New Jersey NETS, then I had sympathies for him 'cause it wasn't Rick Charlisle's fault. PISTONS' players wasn't upto the game-level of NETS.

[thumb=D]RickCharlisle.JPG[/thumb]

Indiana PACERS coach Rick Charlisle watches Kenny Anderson brings up the ball against New Orleans HORNETS

And how he leads the team who's Boss is his best friend, Larry Bird. Tonight, PACERS would have lost the first game on road but again Rick Charlisle showed how mature he is when it comes down to winning the game. Great defence play there by Jermaine O'Neal who followed exactly what Rick has instructed him. PACERS edged HORNETS 76-75 and are 9-2 in the Eastern Conference. I thought either LAKERS or SONICS will have first 10 season wins but it seems at the moment PACERS are very much there. PACERS visits L.A. on 30th of Nov. That'll be an interesting game!

SIXERS won without Iverson. SPURS and KINGS whopped the ass of MAGIC and HAWKS. Man, that was 12th straight loss of MAGIC. Doc Rivers who was fired as a Coach just a days ago, did first ABC analysis of LAKERS-BULLS game.

chants of Kobe Kobe in the STAPLES Center

[thumb=D]Kobe1.JPG[/thumb]

Do y'all see how Kobe Flies........

[thumb=D]Kobe10122_47051361.JPG[/thumb]

Do y'all see how Kobe drives.......

[thumb=D]Kobe3.JPG[/thumb]

** Do y'all see how Kobe shoots the ball and the players just watch..**

[thumb=D]Kobe2.JPG[/thumb]

Do y'all see how Kobe says 'Huh, Technical foul, what's that?

Do ya do ya?

Shaquille got hurt in the thrid qtr but Kobe was there. Well, we are 10-3 rightnow, and it was our 21st consecutive regular season win at home. Sad, we lose Shaq. I don't know whether he'll be okay to play on Sunday against Memphis. It would be fine if Phil Jackson let him rest; and I think he'll just do that. We have more season games ahead of us.

Still, the way LAKERS are playing on road ain't satisfactory. We should have won at Detriot. Oh well, finally we had a big apple bite @ New York. We still got Turnover problems, though, we have done a fine foul trouble recovery. Devean Geroge comes up with no. of steals. Karl Malone building up his no. of rebounds. Gary Payton is hippie hippie and Derek Fisher is really struggling from the field.

Stanislav Medvedenko is on the injured list. Ah, he was the one I was looking to see this season and he ain't fit. We have Jamal Sampson in for Medvedenko. There's no news yet when Rick Fox will make his comeback.

Yeah this year the pacers are doing well.
And its nice to see someone other then Reggie Miller be the top performer.
This is turning out to be a good team, definitly a contender for the eastern championship.
Artest, O Neal, Miller, Foster have all been very consitent.

after a heart-breaking lost to Utah Jazz - we are finally back - and our season is up and running - T’wolves handed defeat to LeBron James’s Cavs and Carmelo Anthony’ Nuggets - and tonight we beat the L.A. Clippers - Kevin Garnett scored his season high 30 points tonight! it’s KG it’s KG :dhimpak: - Latrell Sprewell and Same Cassell has been truly helpful - and Mark Madsen does the job for us off the bench!

at the moment we are 7-5 - and holds the thrid rank in the Midwest division - our next opponent are Indiana Pacers - a good team - i hope we win that important on-road game.

Go T’Wolves!

what is up with the nets :teary2:

yeah Nets aren’t doing well - yesterday they lost to Raptors - though they were without Jason Kidd but come on - Nets should have won that game.

also more worries are for Nets - Alonzo Mourning has quit the basketball - effective from today - due to kidney disease

Nets’ Mourning calling it quits, kidney ailment worsening

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBpNWZic251BF9TAzI1NjY0ODI1BHNlYwN0aA--?slug=ap-nets-mourningretires&prov=ap&type=lgns

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) – New Jersey Nets center Alonzo Mourning is leaving basketball again because the kidney disease he’s had for three years is worsening and he needs a transplant.

The announcement Monday came just a few months after Mourning, 33, signed a four-year contract with the Nets believed to be worth $22 million. The four-time All-Star sat out all of last season and large portions of two of the last three years because of the life-threatening kidney ailment, focal glomerulosclerosis.

The team said Mourning, who was in his 12th NBA season, needs a transplant ``in the near future’’ and that a nationwide search is under way for a prospective donor.

Alonzo is a true champion and a very courageous athlete who attempted to defy the odds with his comeback to the NBA,'' Nets president Rod Thorn said. Unfortunately, his medical condition will not allow him to continue his basketball career.‘’

Dr. Gerald Appel of Columbia University Medical Center said Mourning’s kidney function has deteriorated rapidly in recent weeks.

It is no longer medically safe for him to play basketball,'' Appel said. Although he still feels well, the chemical imbalances in his blood make it dangerous for him to play.‘’

Mourning played in 12 games for the Nets this season, averaging a disappointing 8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 17.9 minutes. His career averages were 20.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game coming into this season.

On Saturday, Mourning had a season-high 15 points in the Nets’ 81-80 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Two days earlier, he got into a heated exchange with teammate Kenyon Martin, who made light of Mourning’s disease.

``I have overcome all I have overcome to come back and play this game for one reason, and that’s to win,‘’ Mourning said afterward.

Mourning previously played for the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat.

The disease was detected in 2000, while Mourning was with the Heat. The diagnosis came shortly after the 6-foot-10 center helped the U.S. team win the gold medal at the Olympics.

The disease attacks the tiny filters in the kidney that remove waste from the blood. That makes the kidney spill protein from blood into the urine. The resulting kidney damage can lead to kidney failure, which requires dialysis or a transplant.

It's a sad day in anyone's life when they can on longer do what they love, especially when they have no control over their situation,'' Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement. Alonzo had been the cornerstone of the Heat organization for eight years and continues to be a role model in the Miami community.‘’

Sad story, Alonzo Mourning was one my favorite sport personalities, lets home he is alive when he gets hall of fame recognition.

BYE BYE New Jesey NETS and Jason Kidd. See you next year.

Welcome Indiana Pacers. :) I still dont see any Eastern Conf. Team winning the NBA .

Too bad Mourning is retired, in his prime he was a good player...
Hey anybody have any ideas on the Raptors/Bulls trade rumours?
Personally form a Toronto perspective, I am not too excited about Jalen Rose or Marshall
Only if the Raps can clear some cap room to pick up Steve Nash
