Re: Nba 2005/2006
I am not desparate. I call names whenever I can. If you can’t take it, tough luck
I never said that. Shaq hasn’t been Shaq since 2002. You should look into stats more
Excuse me? Shaq got them championships? ![]()
Bad example. The scenerio should be… Riding on a dick of young player to achieve your goal.
15? Who’s talking about 15?
Maybe, you should read newspaper - after all that is your source of argument 'cause you can’t make one. Shaq still claims to be “Superman” how corny is that.
Re: Nba 2005/2006
Congrats to Dwyane Wade and Heat. Wade was amazing in 2004 without Shaq, Shaq gives them another star to get over that hump, but to say Wade wouldn't be amazing without Shaq is crazy. Wade is still better and just getting started. He can add that Finals MVP to his name now. Even though there were horrible officiating and controversy throughout the series, this was a great Finals to watch.
Class act by Mark Cuban. Let's not rip on the guy even though he's got a big mouth.
Re: Nba 2005/2006
First refer to the post 15 of this thread. I had a feeling back in Dec 2005 that Pat Riley coaching Miami would be something special this year.
http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showpost.php?p=3745996&postcount=15
Heat become the 3rd team all time in NBA history to lose first 2 games of the finals and win the the campionship. (Last team to do it was in 1977)
Pat Riley, Heat-president-turned-coach, joins joins the elite ranks of Phil Jackson and some dude called Hannum to be only 3 coaches to win NBA title with two different teams and the only coach to take 3 different teams to NBA finals (before Heat it was the NY Knicks in 1994 and ofcourse the 4 NBA titles with the Lakers in six finals appearances).
Pat Riley last won the NBA title with the Lakers, 18 years ago in 1988 and he said he had been chasing this one for a long long time.
In a story published in LA Times, Pat Riley admitted to being appraoched by the Lakers owner Jerry Buss. Buss had Pat fly over to LA and discuss the possible rehiring but Pat wanted to see Kobe and Shaq together in LA if he were to return back to the Lakers. Riley said Nuss had already made up the mind that he didnt want Kobe and Shaq together in LA and he was not interested anymore. Ironically, Riley was the first to learn that Shaq was available for trade and the rest we know – Shaq goes to Miami.
Im also happy to see old veterans of the game finally win a ring – Alonzo “Zo” Mourning, Gary “GP” Peyton, Antoine Walker.
Shaq lives up to his pormise of bringin championship to the city of Miami. And only in his 2nd season there. He was gracious enought to give the credidt to D-Wade. Althought I was a lil pissed at what he had said after the game yesterday in the news conference but im happy for the big fella. I bet he feels vindicated inside. He got his 4th ring w/o Kobe Bryant.
Kobe: 3 NBA rings
Shaq: 4 NBA rings
The ball is in Kobe’s court to win a title w/o Shaq now.
And what bout D-Wade. He has become the undisputed best player in the NBA at the moment and a well deserved Finals MVP. He told ESPN’s Steven A Smith after the game yesterday that during the season Shaq had asked him why his name was not mentioned as a contender for season MVP. He replied by saying he didnt care as long as he was playing in the finals and got the Finals MVP cos that meant more to him – helping his team win a title.
Re: Nba 2005/2006
ya, u think that makes it up for your argument or lack there of
if stats meant more, then iverson n kobe would be the winners of this season. Seriously, if u meant what you wrote, then i can’t help but to feel sorry for ya.
didn’t u say that he was at a whole another level during a three peat..
oh, may be u shift your case per convenience… better yet, when that runs out, u got nothin’ but name calling left in ya…
hehe…easy bro…
aight, question for you… Heat minus Shaq… how far do they get this season?
oh, he had 18, 12 in that game i was talking abt… .sorry if i hurt your feelings by downplaying his scoring. May be you should not pay this much attention to the stats, it might just make your arguments a lil’ better … though i doubt it.
Re: Nba 2005/2006
Mr G and Talha… move on dudes. Its becoming irksome. I am glad the season is over so the two of you can do something more productive with your time.
In any case, it was an excellent Game 6. I was hoping Mavs can show some of the same magic, they had shown in Games 1 & 2, just so the series can extend to Game 7, but no. Mavs didn’t really look like a winning team. Missed a ton of field opportunities. Heat did look sizzling. Wade is an amazing player. After the game, I was kinda happy for Shaq for winning his fourth ring. Say, what you want about the guy, but his presence makes a big difference.
Dirk and the rest of Mavs must be lamenting all the missed chances, and at the end it was clear that the better team won.
Good job Riley, Wade, Shaq and the whole Heat line up. :k:
Re: Nba 2005/2006
Very interesting.
About the finals, i don’t know how Miami did it; they sure had a lot of will. They were a weaker team and like everyone else, i doubted them to win against the Pistons. In the finals, anyone would have picked the Mavs, especially after the first two games, but this HEAT team had this “Big Bowl of trust” thing going on and their was something magical in their run. As Pat put it “I really believe it was our time” … It was interesting to hear in Steven A. interview how Wade and Shaq checked out Dallas’ victory parade website and read the “unworthy team” article… funny how things turn around so quickly. Check this article in Dallas newspaper
