just wondering y is this is so common in our culture, if something bad happens ppl say g nazar lag gai.
n thn ppl say to hide things like pregnancy, dont put up new born baby pics on fb n other social networking sites bc nazar lag jati hai.
and then their r some rememdies like dhoodh ki nazar utaro,lal mirchi ki nazar n so on…
do you guys belive in this if yes to what extent n y is it so common in especially desi culture?

Nazar is barhaq but aap kis had tak is cheez per believe kiya jaa sakay yeh sochnay wali baat hai

Yes I read some Ahadees which support this view, but in Surah Yusuf, when Hazrat Yaqoob (AS) advised his sons not to enter from one gate of the city (to avoid buri nazar), it was referred as just a gumaan following the lines that what has been decided by Allah has to be happened.
