Nawz Sharif facing Pakistan poll ban.

I am sure he will not complain as he wants his party and others not to take part in the elections.

**Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been barred from standing in 8 January parliamentary elections.

**A rival candidate had complained to the Election Commission, citing criminal convictions against Mr Sharif. The commission upheld the complaint.

Re: Nawz Sharif facing Pakistan poll ban.

But why the double standards? Why are daku, criminals and loan defaulters like Ch Shujaat and Pervez Elahi being allowed to contest the election? Oh I forgot their real qualifications: biggest Mushy boot lickers.* andhon ka qanoon hein humaray mulk mein*

Re: Nawz Sharif facing Pakistan poll ban.

He also has until 7th December to appeal the rejection of his papers. Let's see if he does, and is thus serious about his threat to boycott the elections?

Nawaz decides not to appeal against rejection of nomination papers

Updated at Tuesday, December 04, 2007 1425 PST

HARIPUR: Former Prime Minister and PML (N) Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has decided that he will not file appeal against the rejection of his nominations papers. “ I will not file appeal against the rejection of his nominations papers because the judges who are to give the decision on appeals are loyal to an individual instead of constitution and the law,” he said while addressing Haripur District Bar Association. He once again demanded of the government to immediately lift the emergency and restore the judiciary’s pre November-3 position.
