Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
CTBT’s hair are disappearing, so what does that do to the promises? Isn’t Pakistan’s problem the circular debt? Perhaps, Nawaz’s link with Saudis might help with deferred oil as Saudis weren’t keen on a corrupt and Shiite president who also signed a deal for a pipeline with iran (a gimmick really).
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
true..
and how about the increase in tariff…has it taken effect?
The problem is rampant corruption and mili-bhagat of ESCO’s and wapda/Nepra officials. the power houses are producing less and getting more payments…using half of their oil and selling the rest in the market…and so much more…PPP was only busy in looting and did not even care to rectify the situation…
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
CT already said in his election campaign once, “bijli khatam kar daingay” in that case promise will fade away : D
on a serious note, i think there is definitely a room for improvement. many steps can be taken for short term relief. long term planning of course doesn’t fall under 6 months or 1-3 year time period. lets see, i’m hoping to see some good results out of it. no matter what is the deriving force behind…
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
NS don’t do:
What he says.
What he promises.
What country actually needs.
NS do:
What he can do.
(Which has optical value even with ratio of 100:1
Like 100$ went in to produce 1$ viewing pleasure.)
Big catchy promises which are never realized.
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
^ Even if PTI won the elections, they couldn’t do much for loadshedding in the short term. Google Zahid Ali Akbar or Tauqeer Sadiq for a couple of reasons out of hundreds.
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
But then PTI did not claim to finish it in 6 months or a year. The policy paper outlined a time frame of 3-4 years.
My guess is PML-N will get fuel from Saudia on credit in order to provide short term relief…and if this fuel credit continues for the next 5 years, then that will balloon the debt situation in an obscene manner. Sharifs are no better than Zardari in terms of managing debt.
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
Thats why they said it in their manifesto that it will take 3 years rather than Showbaz claiming to get rid of it in 6 months or was it 1 year …actually it was 2 years
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
Electrical Load management is all about base line load. Pakistan electric cos. fail at base line load management since the country does not have a defined energy usage policy which would be inline with an under developed country. Pakistan is NOT an industrial developed country. Its people live below World the poverty line.
Hence the energy usage policy for every subscriber should be one that limits use to basic usage.
Any one with Air conditioner at home in a country where people who don’t have a single light bulb at home should be told to install alternate energy at home for extras. This way you redirect load to a new base line load.
There are solar tube collectors and Solar AC units available today.
Also the best way to curb load shedding is to curb electricity stealing of large industry. Many seth companies steal electricity by having their meters adjusted and bills modified. Why?
NS has no clue of this since his own hands are in this deep, I am sure. *P**anchon ungliyan ghee main hain..
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
yaar aap log loadshedding ko na royen. Awaam k liye khush khabri yeh hai k bullet train aane waali hai. jis shahar mayn loadshedding kum hogi awaam ko wahan pohnchne mayn asaani hogi.
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
It will be solved (inshaAllah?) whether temporarily (up till mid-terms or next elections), selectively (urban centers so businesses are not hurt), or reduced (less load shedding per day), with the help of Friendly Nations on unspecified terms/conditions.
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding
yesterday, in To The Point with Shahzaib, Asad Umer was in show, so were other guys from PPP, PMLN and an analyst. Asad agreed to what Sartaj Aziz was saying, he rebuffed Kaira. few major points which three of them (except Kaira) agreed on, for short to medium term
there are possible short-term options for some immediate relief, but they are very expensive, and should not be exercised more than whats extremely needed
establish open market for power production and consumption
whoever would rule, they will have to raise tariff, even if it were PTI they would raise it as its necessary. limit the subsidy
biggest reason of circular debt is theft (in different forms) to stop it, plans need to be made for bulk prepaid sale of electricity to provinces/cities/metropolitan areas/industrial estates etc
shift to cheaper fuels
lets see whats in next budget, first 3 months of govt will show where govt is headed
Re: Nawaz sharif refuses to give time frame for ending load shedding

mere chirya nay bataya hai…there was a protest infront of Nawaz Sharif mahal in raiwind and police was used todisperse the protesters. Chuk chuk kay nahar main phainka gaya hai protesters ko.
