When Nawaz was returning from his exile his supporters would portray him as a changed man. The way he has responded to dissent during the past few days has at least shattered that myth. Nothing has changed, he can’t face opposition/criticism. He was ameer ul momineen then and a dictator now.
Interesting to note that otherwise he has a favourable media, judiciary and the army is not meddling in governments affairs. I shudder to think how he will behave under pressure circumstances. As his past supporter it seems as if his attitude (dictatorial tendencies and low confidence) has become worse during the the past 15 years. A person who has no vision, no confidence and he is our pm. Is this all that Pakistan has got?

Zardari was best President in term of political stability. He allowed famous long march of Tahir ul Qadri in Islamabad.
Nawaz Sharif is not mature and not so political. He lacks democratic tolerance.
The guy chose to be exiled in Saudi Arabia for goodness sake. What did anyone expect - he'll come back with the miraculous ability to finally spell and respect democracy?
He's probably kicking himself for having to failed to impose the toxic and absolutely loathsome Saudi style monarchy in Pakistan. Must be quite upset for losing the opportunity to name Pakistan after his family.

Khuda jab husn deta hay خدا جب حسن دیتا ہے نزاکت آ ہی جاتی ہے
Nazakat aa hi jati hay
NS definitely is not a astute man. I applauds him for shying away from giving live speeches. Its better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubts. This is something Zardari can definitely learn from him.
Nawaz sharif has been known as a person who creates crisis and then tries to solve them. What different could he have done to resolve this impasse? We need to understand that instead of approaching the two parties in solving this issue PMLN was first to approach the coas. They themselves have relegated their position in front of the army, and no one still knows how the situation will unfold in the next few days.
There is still time. It's never too late to mend ways, and take public in to support. If the Prime Minister speaks with the public in a most open, honest, and truthful manner and admits the mismanagement of recent crises and gives a clear path to resolving current issues, and addresses the demands, the tide can turn and the democratic setup can continue. It maybe an acceptable reality to have a newer PM from within the same party, who would start working for the country and do much needed PR damage control in the next 3-4 years.
But, I don't think attitudes are likely to change this quickly unless a change is forced which is usually not ideal and results are short-lived.
Being a party head is not a bad thing either. Sharif brothers can continue to lead the party, and set an example for other parties by letting newer ideas and newer talent to come at position of authority. It will help to do away with the "family business of politics" stigma that is attached to PPP and PML.

Only ZAB had that quality. He was master of negotiations. He was hanged in a false murder case. Pakistan never saw politician of such caliber perhaps it never will.
The guy has always run the country like his personal business. He seems to have a sense of invincibility every time he comes (IJI, 1997-simple majority, 2013-simple majority), and assumes that a simple majority gives him the same ability and authority as it does to a military dictator. Well, times have changed.
I feel he has tried to create a 'respectable' reason for his eventual exit by involving Gen. Raheel. If and when he resigns, he can always claim that 'establishment' forced him out. His ego doesnt allow him to say that people pressure got him kicked out, or his stupid mistakes over the past year got him undone, because he still wants to sell the same old lie to the public by pretending that his party enjoys the kind of support that the rigged elections showed.

Insha Allah it will. But yes, ZAB had some qualities. Nawaz Sharif also has some qualities, it's just a matter of increasing the good qualities and suppressing the bad ones. A position of authority should feel like a burden that a person dreads because it's such a huge trust. When our leaders, or even we start treating it like a right to rule others, it becomes problematic.

2 things 1) we are taking about NS. He will never change. 2) Pakistani politicians are not visionaries & their vision only extends to how to turn politics into family business and to enrich themselves and their cronies.
Btw, I saw Jawaid Hashmi on tv utterly dejected and sad man...probably only honest & principled politician in the country.
He is a changed man and has learned a lot from his past. Before he took 32 months to create trouble for himself but this time, he took just 14 months.
lol yeah...an improved version of NS! :D
last time the army came and took him out...this time he has asked the army to escort him out
izzat maa'aab kaa janaaza hai, zaraa dhoom se nikle! :p
