Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

:smack: Yeh waqt bhi dekhna tha. This is with reference to Mumtaz Bhutto joining PMLN today.

Sharmila assails Nawaz, Mumtaz for using

**KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on media Sharmila Faruqi on Wednesday criticised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif and Sindh National Front (SNF) chief Mumtaz Bhutto for using the ‘Sindh card.’

**
**In a statement, she asked them not to try to become the ‘champion of the interests of the people of Sindh.’
**

Faruqi was of the view that Nawaz Sharif and Mumtaz Bhutto were not sincere with the people of Sindh yet these two were shedding “crocodile’s tears” and that they would not be in a position to deceive the people anymore.

She said that the 180 million people of Pakistan are with the present democratic government.

Faruqi further stated that the government ensured equal distribution of resources to the provinces through the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and that it also brought to an end the anti-Sindh Kalabagh Dam project.

She also flayed those who were criticising President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani without any justification.

Faruqi was of the view that such elements were targeting the present democratic government just to hide their own corruption.

Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

This looks like first blow to PPP in Sindh. Joining Sindhi with other than PPP is again proving absolutely wrong to racists here who claimed that Sindhis only support to PPP. If all such nationalists join PML(N), there will be great set back to PPP in the coming elections. PPP leaders should open their eyes what they have done wrong to poor Sindhis?

Mumtaz Bhutto was one of the pioneer of founding PPP and right hand of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. During his tenure as CM Sindh, he was most strict in administration which many people did not like it. He was talented CM with title of “Talented Cousin of Zuflqar Ali Bhutto”. It is surprising how the things have changed since departure of ZAB.

Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that once elected to form a government, his party would restore peace in the troubled parts of Sindh, DawnNews reported. Moreover, on the occasion, chief of the Sindh National Front (SNF) Mumtaz Ali Bhutto announced that he and his party would now operate under the PML-N flag.

Speaking at a public meeting in Sindh’s Ratodero city, Sharif said a government existed in the province, however, it “remained missing in action”.

The PML-N chief moreover said that his party supported increased autonomy for provinces. He said his party would rehabilitate the farmers and would overcome the challenges of poverty and crime in order to improve people’s lives.

Reiterating accusations of corruption against President Asif Ali Zardari, Sharif said the PPP co-chairman had deviated from the Charter of Democracy (CoD).

He further said that he had “deep respect” for Mumtaz Bhutto and said the latter had preferred to stand by his principles instead of abandoning them to obtain a position of authority.

Sharif said “we would work under the leadership of Mumtaz Bhutto”. The meeting also saw Mumtaz Bhutto merging his SNF into the PML-N.

Sharif further said that Zardari was voted in to power over the death of Benazir Bhutto, adding that, no concrete steps had been taken to apprehend those involved in her killing.

Speaking at the meeting, Mumtaz Bhutto said the country’s current rulers had taken “no meaningful steps to arrest those behind the killing of Benazir Bhutto”.

He accused the PPP-led coalition government of corruption and said he and his party would operate under the PML-N flag.

He further said that the PPP as it now existed was “no longer the PPP of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto”.

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

This is a significant change and will probably change the voting patterns in Sindh.

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

People are not completely satisfied with PPP due to their performance during this tenure. Would be interesting to see if it affects the voting pattern. Can PML-F make an impact?

Dunya News: Pakistan:-PML-F, other parties to form anti-PPP alliance in …

Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and other political, religious and nationalist parties have agreed to form anti-PPP alliance for next polls in Sindh.

As per media reports, an important meeting of ten key political, religious, and nationalist parties was hosted by the PML-F at the residence of Jam Madad Ali in Karachi this day to ponder over an alliance for next general elections in Sindh.

General Secretary of the PML-F, Imtiaz Sheikh, said while talking to media after the meeting that next week another meeting of those parties’ chiefs will be held, which are part of the grand political alliance in Sindh.

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

This is just a turf war, nothing else.

Zardari made a butt-ugly bilawal house in Lahore, and Nawaz Sharif went over and teamed up with sindhi nationalists.

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

My analysis is that the reason PPPP is losing ground has nothing to do with its performance. It always had such a miserable performance in Sndh. It is losing the support of common Sindhis due to zardari’s policy if reconciliation with everyone. One thing Sindhis cannot bear is to give an inch to MQM. But PPP, in order to stay in govt, decided to join hands with MQM and even went ahead with local bodies ordnance. This is unbearable in Sindh. Because they consider it first step in division of Sindh. The distrust is evident when one sees the common conspiracy theories among Sindhis according to which even Zulfiqarabad project is an attempt to divide Sindh (make new city for Sindhis, and give karachi to MQM).

this is the reason PPP is losing support among its voters, and thus Nawaz is getting a chance to create alliances with nationalists like Ayaz Paleejo and Mumtaz Bhutto.

MQM is the nemesis of Sindhi nationalists/separatists. And Nawaz is making the most of this situation.

Here is how Mumtaz Bhutto thinks. He doesn’t just talk about MQM but also about SINDHI people. Meaning that when he says anything against MQM, he actually says it against Urdu speaking people.

Associated Press Of Pakistan ( Pakistan’s Premier NEWS Agency ) - Mumtaz Bhutto against formation of PPP-MQM coalition
LARKANA, Feb 22 (APP): Chairman, Sindh National Front (SNF), Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has opposed the proposed alliance between PPP and MQM for forming government in the province.

PPP‘s sharing power with MQM in Sindh would be tantamount to rubbing salt on the injuries of Sindhi people,” he contended recalling the alleged “massacre” of Sindhis during PPP-MQM coalition in 1988-90.

take a look at his views about posting a MUHAJIR as a commissioner of Karachi. Ooh, how sacreligious! A Muhajir a commissioner of karachi?! I feel your pain, mumtaz.

http://ppinewsagency.com/70405/
PML-N leader Mumtaz Ali Bhutto contends that removal of a Sindhi and posting a ‘Muhajir’ as Commissioner of Karachi is the result of imposition of new local government system that aims at dividing Sindh.

Such views are shared by most people in Sindh. They can’t accept any prominent role given to any Urdu speaking person. It is not just about MQM.

Now Nawaz has decided to join hands with such nationalists against Urdu speaking people. His alliance is not just against MQM.

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

Here are some more views of Nawaz’s friend about Urdu speaking people, especially those who DARE to talk about a new province.
He calls urdu speaking people the refugees. Actually, this is a better word that he used. In their private meetings, there is a more common more insulting word used for Urdu speaking people in Sindh.

http://pakistan.onepakistan.com.pk/news/city/karachi/87059-people-demanding-muhajir-province-should-go-to-uttar-pradesh-mumtaz-bhutto.html

Karachi, Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Mumtaz Ali Bhutto said on Monday that Sindh belongs to Sindhis only, and if the refugees want province of their own, they should go to Uttar Pradesh for it.

We will not allow dividing Sindh and for it we are prepared to sacrifice our life, Bhutto said according to press release issued on letterhead of PML-N District Larkana.

**Let’s see how the PPP protects Sindh from its enemies, **who have been made coalition partners to remain in power. The question is would PPP be loyal to Sindh or betray it to save its power? said Mumtaz Bhutto, who recently joined PML-N after wounding up Sindh National Front.

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

^ the enemy thing is quite objectionable, was this reported in the main stream media?

Re: Nawaz in Sindh: Mumtaz Bhutto’s SNF merges into PML-N

^^^^^^^^^

PPP in Sindh rural areas and MQM in urban areas will still be the major winners in the coming elections. Mark my words.
