Naah, Shahid Afridi, He has no doubt now that he is the greatest batsman, After him comes Richards..Bradman at the bottom of his list.
AK
coming back to topic..
Sri lanks is
200/6 while chasiing 304.
Looke like they are in for a defeat.
will be shameful English tour for srilankan.
The Indians batted very well, the Sri Lankan's on the other hand committed suicide by their inept running between the wickets and that atrocious shot by Jaywardena. A sad end to the S/L tour of England.
something needs to be done to the bowling though - With this bowling Indian team cant expect to go to the world cup with any hope. Today was another example of pathetic bowling by Indian bowlers.
SL was right there in the game with explosive batting by Sangakkara - I think he should have curbed his aggresiveness.

yep... I agree...but I guess indians are well ware of that shortcoming and trying tomakeup for it with one extra batsman.
Anyway I think in final India will go with 2 spinners. Agrakar is gonna sit again.
I am sure india will lose in final
I don't think 2 spinners would be such a good idea, you already have Sachin and Yuvraj, who can bat and bowl then why bother bringing in out of form Kumble, who has a hard time taking wickets.
stick with Harbajhan, zaheer, nihari, youhana, and have Yuvraj, sachin, sehwag be part time bowlers.
I'm dissappointed on Ganguly's form, he is yet to score big in this tournament that is very unlikely of him but his captainlcy has been very good.
With all do respect, please never compare Shahid Afridi to Dasgupta.

Well , anyway Tinu or Agarakr is going to cost 70 in 10 overs then why not have kumble...who is more economical than these two.
coming to 2nd point..
yes..we shouldnot compare afridi to Dasgupta. Dasgupta will be hurt.

So who do you think will win the final on saturday? At the start of this thread I said England will win it, but now I am not sure. Will be rooting for England on saturday though. May the best team win.

I'm not rooting for anyone but India should win this one, this is a very changed team since the last time I saw them play.
If they can play like they batted today then it would be an easy victory against a weak side, remember last year how badly England lost to Pakistan and Australia.
Sachin Tendulkur needs to bat the way he did, i think Ganguly needs to come to 4th or 5th like test matches so he can make way for Tendulkur on the top, and have Moniga at 3 and Dravid with 4th.
The only think needs to be worried about is a decent bowlers, eventhough Harbajhan came to rescue but he will typically fail, he has this thing, he performs badly he gets dropped, then he gets another chance comes in and takes 4 or 5 wickets than plays badly again.
i wouldn't rely on the bowling at all so India need to put an all out assault if they win the toss and bat first. if they loose the toss, they will surely loose the match.
India should go into the FINAL with all 11 batsmen. Rahul Dravid should keep wickets.
Ganguly/Kaif/Sachin/Yuvraj/Sehwag can share the 50 overs between themselves... I am sure their bowling performance will not be worse than Zaheer/Youhanan/Kumble/Agarkar and Co.
This idea may seem too radical and unrealistic but give it a thought and you will notice that it is actually a very practical idea.

I will agree with all of yoru comments here except that "ENGLAND IS A WEEKSIDE"...
This teams has improved a lottttt since you saw that last tri-series.
Arrival of TRESCOTHINK and emergance of Flintoff and Irani has given lot of teeth to this side. Remember same side has thrashed great Srilankan in both onedays and Test.
Tendulkar confident of making Lord's final
Sachin Tendulkar is confident he will be fit to face England in the NatWest Series final despite having hamstring trouble during the match against Sri Lanka.
Tendulkar hit his 33rd one-day century in India's 63-run win at Bristol.
He felt a slight twinge in his hamstring and sat out the remainder of the match as his team comfortably defended their 304 all out under the floodlights.
But he was in no doubt he would be fit to face England at Lord's, and India coach John Wright later confirmed Tendulkar should be "100 per cent" for Saturday's final.
Tendulkar is calling on India's British-based support to continue to back their team at Lord's.
"The final will be a very important day for us - there is nothing like lifting a trophy at Lord's," he said.
"We will be trying our best. We appreciate the support we have had here and hope it is the same at Lord's too."
Sachin - Highest Scorer(so far) in Current series with an avg of 64+
