oohh there's many.... it is the city of gardens afterall!

I can only remember Gulshan Iqbal Park, Bagh-e-jinnah, Race course, Shalamar bagh ... you can look at the locations on google maps, I am clueless about the directions. I'm sure there's many many other baghs...

Lahore Zoo, Lahore Zoo Safari, Changa Manga and Jallo Park for wildlife come to mind.

Barbie, I know these parks and gardens, I was actually looking for Wildlife Parks like the ones we have in UK. I can see one near Raiwind on the map, I was wondering may be I can get more info regarding the sort of species you can find there etc.

I've been to the zoo for dozens of time but the rest of the places I haven't seen yet....I guess this safari park is near Raiwind?

Hareem, I remember visiting some wildlife parks in Lahore but I can't recall the names... the places gidsa mentioned ring a bell.... they won't be hard to find once you get there. Even rikshaw walas will be able to guide you!

^ Yes Raiwind I think, though not been there myself I was told it was awesome by friends.

there is a safari park near islamabad/pindi too right? i am not a big fan of safari parks as i would rather see an animal in the wild!

If you're going to compare it to the safari parks in UK, I'm afraid it's rather lame. Basically there are two enclosures, one has the tigers and the other has the lions, who have a complete family including cubs. There is another enclosure (not a drive through one) which has all sorts of different deer species. The bird aviary is quite good though, it is quite large and you can walk around among the birds. Other than that there is a lake for boating..and that's about it. I think Lahore Zoo is a better option if you want to see a large variety of wildlife.

Yes there is, my cousin from Islamabad reckons it's better than the Lahore one.

Exactly.......once took kids to the raiwind park......it was public holiday..and damn...too many people......and nothing significant.....only birds area was good...

Zoo has more animals......but nothing like safari park.....Jallo Park has some snakes/deers n stuff...

Haha, you never go to a place like that on a public holiday! Try going to Lahore Zoo on 14th August haha.

Oh I've been to that one. Awesome natural reserve at Lohi Bher. The most fun I had was spotting deer there.

Have you guys heard of Head Baloki? My niece went there few weeks ago and by the pics she posted I can tell it's awesome.
