Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) – Allied forces have suffered a day of heavy losses in Afghanistan in a helicopter crash that killed 6 U.S. Marines and an attack that killed four French service members and raised the prospect of France withdrawing its troops early.
The Marines died after their CH 53 helicopter crashed in Helmand province, a U.S. military official said. The NATO-led force reported no enemy activity in the area, but the Taliban claimed credit for bringing down the copter.
Separately, an Afghan soldier killed four French service members and injured 15 others, one critically, in eastern Afghanistan, French officials said. French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he was suspending French training operations and combat help as a result.
“The French army is not in Afghanistan to be shot at by Afghan soldiers,” he said.
France could bring its troops back early from Afghanistan if the necessary security is not restored, Sarkozy said. France has 3,935 troops in Afghanistan, according to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
alhamdulilah may allah(swt) increase the losses and death for the occupiers. The arrogance of these crusaders is being crushed daily from them losing the wars to their economies being hit from every direction.
I like sarkozhy comment made me laugh:

Besides violent insurgent groups whose worst nightmare is the international community’s presence in Afghanistan, which has severely hindered their evil objectives of turning Afghanistan into a terror haven, do you realize that the Afghan people are protected and aided by United States/NATO troops? In addition, we are also helping to build a stronger Afghan police and Army, capable of independently protecting their country. Are these the policies and actions of an “invading” force? To rebuild the nation for the Afghans, to equip, train and support the native population and fighting forces? Knowing all this, how can anyone term the international community as invaders? If the Afghan population deemed us invaders, they would have, on a massive scale, joined the terrorist and insurgents groups in Afghanistan. But you see that large numbers of them are giving up their weapons and moving towards peace negotiations with the Afghan government.
Whatever the motives may be behind the attack on the French troops, it remains a rare and unfortunate incident, which elicits our deepest sympathies. We join the Afghan government in their acknowledgment of the sacrifices and the extensive assistance provided to Afghanistan by France. The Afghan government has also made clear that the actions of this one person do not reflect the sentiment of the Afghan people towards the NATO soldiers. As for the conspiracy theories that the U.S is bombing mosques, market places and schools, we urge you to refrain from spreading more lies and propaganda, which continue to be baseless and devoid of any factual information.
