The Government has ordered the removal of all the Ghauri missile statues in the capital city of Islamabad. Recently, they were removing the ones in F-10 chowk Islamabad, and the guy working over there said ‘lagta hai america se order aya hai’. These missile statues have been there for alot of years and represent our national pride. If they were to be removed like this; whatever the reason be (i.e. musharrafs masters and their orders or friendship move in light of the Vajpayee visit), its not right. The Chaghi model in Islamabad will also be covered soon. Why are we ashmed of our nuclear arsenal?
One reason could be that they look incredibly ugly.
well if you look at it objectively.. it's sad that a nation's pride would be it's arsenal of weapons.. Nations should be proud of their art, culture, architecture, educational prowess, technological achievement that better the common man's health and life.. not weapons of destruction..
Everyone knows we have them. Plus since saarc summit is upon us, they have to remove them in order to make the streets a little more attractive! I don't know how can our "national pride" be attached to those ugly looking missiles! Our national pride will be in shame when we fail to launch those missiles once homeland is threatened by brahmin terrorists next door!
