national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

as a hazara myself, i felt that this was quite accurate in how we have been struggling to gain a foothold in afghanistan.

hxxp://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/2008-02/afghanistan-hazara/phil-zabriskie-text.html

with all the talk about how non-muslims are oppressing muslims, why is there silence among muslims when muslim tyrannical regimes like the taliban and such are oppressing other muslims?

I wonder what Taliban supporters on GS have to say.

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

They aren't done foaming at the mouth. Once done, they will be here to bash the hazaras. Fiqar nahi meray dost.

:o

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

bump. im also waiting for them to comment. after all, arent we muslims suffering under tyranny as well?

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

i find it sad that some muslims in general have no problem with oppression as long as suits their own purposes.

is oppression of others necessary to establish an islamic state?

is genocide of an ethnic group a barometer of an islamic state?

is beating women and denying them basic health and education privilages part of their islam?

is allowing afghani arabs to massacre us simply because we looked different a necessity in establishing sharia?

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

^ what the situation for hazaras in afghanistan at present?

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

its in the article i posted

theres some things left to be desired, but overall, much better than it was before the invasion.

i am personally glad and thankful to the us for overthrowing the taliban once and for all. it doesnt surprise me that those who wet their pants over the taliban are naive confused desis and arabs living in the west, away from the hell that was evident under their rule.

i make dua'a that the taliban will never return to power again.

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

Lol i am not living in down under! are you?

Either way yeah i am orginally from quetta...well actually my parents are ....

Have you watched the national geographics movie '' the boy who plays with the budhas of bamiyan;''' not really sure about its title now... it was fun to watch :)

I havent heard much positive news about hazaras in australia! how are they living there ?

Re: national geographic on shia hazaras in feb 08 issue

im in the usa. my family is from hazarajat of course :). i figured you were since so many hazaras fled to quetta to escape the brutal barbarity of abdur rahman khan back in the 1890s.

no i havent seen the documentary yet, thanks for the reccomendation.

from what i understand, other than the mv tampa incident in 01, the hazaras in australia are living much better alhamdullilah than they would be back home. they also try to integrate by placing strong emphasis on education so we wont get pushed around ever again.
