As we aware ‘music’ is prohibitted (haraam). So listening to any national anthem or standing when its played is permissible?. What about saluting the flag? Is it permissible? What is the ruling (if any) about these?

Here are some milli naghme dear lethalkamikaze. Music is not haraam in islam. If we read the quran it gives us a rule that only harmful and destructive things are unlawful in islam and all benefitical things are lawful. We must realise that not all things are harmful and destructive at all times under all circumstances and situations nor all things are beneficial all the time under all the circumstances and situations. Once we realise these rules there remains no confusion as to what is lawful and why or what is unlawful and why.

in Islam, vocal singing is alright but instruments with strings are NOT allowed...so, duff is allowed while sitaar [guitar] isn't.

what about sleeping on the bed in fetus or soldier position? (Only sleeping positions no randoms)
What about freaking using commode instead of seat or a shower instead of lota?
what about using the computer whose processor is made by either intel or amd the infidel companies or ram by some Chinese?
what about cell phone the technologies are patent to Motorola, Nokia, Lucent, and countless other infidels companies?
What about click click voice when I type on iPad or iPhone?
what about bra again created by Western European ?
What about ladies pads for that time of month commonly known as period?
what about the guns used by our mujahideen made by infidels?
what about the medicine or vaccines nearly all of them discover by non Muslims?
What about french kiss & cuddling or other stuff?

Answer these first then I will give detail answer to your another rambling.

your bulls-eye post, I must agree.

Music is not haram as such. where did you get that? in case of certain music that only brings out negative in you, better to stay away from it but labeling music as a whole as haram is really strange. Broadly speaking, what is music. it has rhythm, harmony that when reaches ears feels good. why it cannot be used as a mode of spreading positive messages/ideas? Why is it recommended to recite Quran in best way you can. We prefer to listen to those Qaaris who have good voice and recite the holy verses in style and rhythm. this is music. We listen to naats and hamds sung in style. why? because beauty impacts our senses.

AFAIK there is nothing wrong with listening to the anthem and standing or taking your hat off while it is being played. These are mere expressions of your allegiance and respect towards your state. same is the case with saluting the flag Where is the negativity?

As i know (i may be wrong) but Islam doesnt believe in nation states , hence nationalism towards a nation is out of the window. It also does not believe in organized army.
If what i wrote above is true then national anthem is least of your worries.

If you really mean what you wrote then you have selective believing problem.

I read somewhere on the net that National Anthem/Saluting to a Flag is not 'permissible'. That is why I opened this thread. So you pplz says its 'oky' to listening national anthem/saluting a flag too as well as listening to 'Mili Naghmain' b'coz there is no such ruling which prevent from these? :)
