The music composed by Chagla reflects his background in both eastern and western music. The lyrics are written in a highly Persianized form of Urdu. Every word in the entire anthem is a loanword from Persian or Arabic except the word “ka” ( کا, “of” ). The anthem lasts for 1 minute and 20 seconds, and uses twenty one musical instruments and thirty eight different tones.

1952 – Verses written by Hafeez Jalandhri, selected from 723 entries

I love the way it is played in my school. So awesome but the students pay no heed, no care, nothing.. till they exit school.

I think difficult and not easy to understand language is the reason. same children pay more attention to 'Lab pe aati hai dua'.

I think bachon ko national anthem k peche history aur national anthem k meaning waghairah samjhani chahiye..by including it in one of the subjects taught around the age of 12-13.

Lab py ati hai dua was never played in assembly in our school.
