naseeb

as-salam-o-alaykum

i was talking to an Arab Muslim friend of mine and she told me that in Islam two things are decided for everyone when they are born…

1- who they will marry
2- when they will die

is this true?

i am not sure what the concept of naseeb/ kismet/ destiny is in Islam…

are there ayahs or ahadith abt this in specific…?

jazakallah :flower1:

Marriage arranged by Allah?

Iqbal

if its predestined whom to marry, what's the big hue and cry when muslims get married to non-muslims?

I belive on "rishtay aasmaNo par tay hotay haiN " :-) and i think this is kinda true ke Moot ka eik din muqarar hai ,not sure bat shade :o

Uzee's responses in the link that Iqbal gave has the answer about what whats ordained while in the womb.

I also have a book that explains islams view of fate/qadar. Its explains it very well.

fate? predestination? certain are predestined like birth and death, the rest are our own decisions and paths in life although Allah mian does guide us in those as well.

:)

pata nahin meray baray main kia likha hay ........kis say shadi ho ge meri............if one of u goes to the heavens plz mail me whom i m goingt obe married...........shadi nahin ho ab tak

i dunno any reference about any proof for who will one marry (but is written for sure).. but when one will die is absolutely written and dozens of aayaat are there to quote..

believing in fate is one of the seven things in "Imaan-e-Mufassil" ...

ALLAh is Aleem and Khabeer... HE knows everything and has written it already... but He has written it based on HIS ultimate knowledge.. it will happen because of our own struggle, faults etc NOT that because ALLAH wrote it that's why it will happen that way...

we are advised not to think deeply in these matters as shaitaan misguides us by putting confusing thoughts on such matters in our mind which are basically out of human comprehension...

1- Not true
2- True

I think this is a tricky question. What your friend say is not entirely true but not entirely fals. There is certain limits and variable that you are able to change and there are bigger variable that we human cannot change. These unchanged parameter and factors are in the hands of Allah swt.
