So what makes a guy narrow minded? Just because a guy is curious that why would a girl live in a dorm when her family is nearby & she can totally live with her family?

That’s exactly right. He’s narrow minded for thinking what she did in her parents’ home with her parents’ permission is any of his business.

Hmmm…I think it 's human nature to consider the negative possibilities along with the positive. We do it to protect ourselves. But a narrow-minded person struggles with giving the other person the benefit of the doubt. They can’t fathom possibilities beyond their black and white views. They’ll form a strictly unfavorable opinion about a person before getting to know them and may still be inflexible in their perceptions after hearing the person out…and this tends to be their usual attitude with those that they know and don’t know.

When he can’t accept the fact that times have changed and Pakistani girls are more likely to live out for uni these days than say 10 years back. Adaptability is key!

It’s narrowminded when one assumes the worst and puts a negative spin on other people’s experiences without knowing their circumstances.
Judging someone and assuming something about a person’s character without being willing to know more, is narrow-minded because the person already assumes about the other person and is considering them through narrow lens.

There is nothing wrong with being curious. Having a genuine curiosity about why a girl lives in a dorm when her family lives nearby is perfectly ok. But please see the quote below. When a guy has this type of opinion about a girl ONLY b/c she lives in dorm…without having a single conversation with her and despite being told that she is a good girl by someone who actually knows the girl…that’s narrow mindedness. Guys like this aren’t “curious” about anything. They think they already know the answer. Hopefully you can tell the difference.

That’s a genuine question. And not only just that question, there comes many other questions in the same regard.
What type of parents are those?
What type of a daughter she is?
What type of a mother she’ll be?
What type of a relationship she has with her mother?
etc
Narrow mindedness would be when a guy is asking her to not study at all or something.
