Naredra Modi aawe hi aawe (merged)

Forget MMA. Forget maulana diesel. Forget Taliban. Forget Wahabis, Dear Indians get prepared: Nazis are coming home! Success of Gujrat game indicates one and only one thing…minorities in India are fair game at local level. Oppress them..burn them…slap them…hunt them down like beasts and you get the winners in elections.

Next time a smart ass indian mentions MMA, I am going to puke. As much as I hate Mullahs and our little Osamas in the backyard…and please no explainations of what Muslims did to us..I know it very well and my ancestors had seen it first hand unlike you smart programmers reading it in RSS literature…nothing takes away the fact that with this attitude and fascist games, India is going down the tubes.

With 72% majority in house, Modi can do things that MMA could only wish.

hate to Say this but I TOTALLY agree with you.

To be fair, this is just one state with a strong VHP/RSS presence. I doubt the same could replicated in other more liberal states like Kerala, Andhra etc.

Extremism in any form is a common enemy for all of South Asia.

All useless excuses! BJP in Gujrat has repeated Congress of 1984, (when Rajeev Gandhi got a huge mandate after Sikhs were massacred all over India).

Election results in Gujrat have given a wrong turn to Indian polity. In future all parties will show hatred towards the minority just for securing the vote bank.

I do not agree that minorities are being killed, harassed in India, but Hindus will never remain secular politically in future…..Off course Hindus are not a secular community socially, and now it’s a political degradation.

Resurgence of Hindu Exteremism

Recent results of Indian state of Gujrat is an eye opener for all the peace loving people in the region. They translate into resurgence of hindu fascist elements and reflect the mind set of majority as exteremists.

Modi represents the WORST part of Hindutva revivalism. He and his supporters must be made accountable for crimes against Humanity. An article from a month ago..

Modi Liable for Prosecution for Genocide: Citizens Tribunal](rediff.com: Modi liable for prosecution for genocide: Citizens Tribunal)

With less than a month to go for the assembly elections in Gujarat , a tribunal of eminent citizens, including retired Supreme Court judges, on Thursday held Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Sangh Parivar outfits directly responsible for the post-Godhra violence and said he was ‘liable for prosecution for genocide’. The nine-member ‘Concerned Citizens Tribunal Gujarat 2002’, headed by Justice (retired) Krishna Iyer, also said that the fire in the Sabarmati Express coach that triggered the violence was ‘set from inside’.

Releasing its findings at a joint press conference in Ahmedabad, Justice P B Sawant and Justice Hosbet Suresh, both retired, and senior advocate K G Kannabiran said Modi, his cabinet colleagues and organisations like the BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal are “directly responsible for the post-Godhra carnage.”

It said the chief minister “is liable for prosecution for genocide for refusal to take any preventive measure and protect the lives and properties of minorities in the state.” Justice Suresh told mediapersons that the tribunal had prepared its report on the basis of 2094 statements from victims, FIRs, eyewitness accounts, findings of forensic investigations. The tribunal said Muslim women were targeted and abused with an inhuman level of violence and sexual crime."Economic and social boycott of the community was openly encouraged and continues in many parts of the state to date. " "Mosques, dargahs, small shrines and other Muslim religious and cultural places were systematically destroyed and desecrated in the first 72 hours of violence all over the state," the panel observed.

The tribunal accused the state police of “not fulfilling its constitutional duty and preventing mass massacre, rape and arson.” On the Godhra incident, it said, given the place’s history and communal background the incident could not have taken place had the police taken due precaution and maintained a strict vigil when kar sevaks (religious volunteers) were passing through Godhra.

The tribunal further accused the chief minister of "connivance and facilitation of the carnage, transfer of good police officers, not taking action against erring police officials or party functionaries who were named by victims and making persistent threats to close down privately run relief camps."

It also charged Modi with “abusive comments against the affected and victimised community, refusal to comply with NHRC recommendations and not taking punitive action against provocative media reports and other organisations.” The tribunal also charged Modi with influencing criminal investigation, as names of VHP, RSS, and BJP functionaries were omitted in charge sheets although their names appeared in FIRs.

The carnage was ‘planned’ at six levels, including 'physical destruction of a part of the community, economic destruction, cultural and religious destruction, sexual violence and rape of a number of women of a particular community, resistance to rehabilitation, a publicly declared desire to physically and morally destroy the Muslim community of Gujarat," the tribunal said. It also accused Railway Minister Nitish Kumar of distancing his ministry from the Godhra carnage on the grounds that what happened was not a rail accident but a law and order issue.

“The railway minister, who rushes to the spot whenever there is a train accident, failed in his duty to visit Godhra to survey the situation for himself and order an immediate inquiry into the cause of the fire,” it said. “It is unfortunate that the minister has not visited Godhra till date,” the panel observed.

The tribunal criticised the Centre for failing to enact any law to prevent mass crimes against marginalised groups. The tribunal also pointed out that “the genocide in Gujarat could not have been taken up at the International Criminal Court since the court was formed only on July 1, 2002.”

It is Gujrat now...it was whole of India in 1984 when Hindu votes were illured by the massacre of Sikhs. Every Indian state has a minority of one kind or other, religious, caste, linguistice etc. Now that politicians know it works to turn Indians against Indians, they will do it more often and more violently.

rvikz

troubling to say the least. with your extremists on yoru side of the border and our idiots on our side of the border, i can only see comditions worsening for people of both countries.

sad

Channji: I would have agreed with you, if this was the 1980's or earlier. The fact of the matter is that along with the economic liberalization, there has also been a decentralization of power to the state level. Over time you would see that individual states in India havingmore of a say in governance. It can be highly advantageous for a diverse country like India to have this happen. Politics in Andhra Pradesh are extremely different than politics in Gujrat or Maharashtra. The horror in godhra is not directly indicative of communal strife anywhere else in the country. WHile gujrat awas burning, conventional wisdom would have suggested that India was going to expereince that same in areas with large muslim populations. But guess what...nothing happened.!!!! THe secular democratic legacy is too strong and old in India to be subverted by people lke the RSS and Modi and advani. The decentralization of power nad factionalism in coalition gov't helps multicultural countries.

There is simply no comparison to the MMA, and OSama and the Indian government. Your linkage to draconian laws promoted by the MMA or the sheer lunacy of the jiahdis is no where close to the results of a democratic process that has been a part of India for over 50 years.

MMA is not going to Talibaise Pakistan. BJP is not going to communalise India. Democracy requires a chorus and a chrous is what is being heard. How else do you bring communalism on the table so people can discuss it, and think about it, and then move beyond it? In usa after civil rights there was lot of talk about 'token blacks' , token woman, or token minority. Slowly USA is moving out of that and people are starting to accept that the black is there because he can do a good job and not because he is a token. Muslims in India have to move beyond being considered 5th columnists for Pakistan, or segregated into token representatives. How is that going to happen? So have faith in the chorus of democracy.

Yes, MMA cannot be compared to the Indian Government. Unlike the INDIAN GOVERNMENT, the MMA have not aided in killing thousands of people, and have not sent over a hundred thousand to the refugee camps.

Yes, Osama cannot be compared to the Indian government. He as an individual may have done all the bad things that he has been alleged, but the INDIAN GOVERNMENT in power has aided the killing of thousands of the minority community, and have sent over a hundred thousand to the refugee camps. That is the difference between STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM and the mad actions of an individual.

Yes, whether the terrorism occurs at an individual level or at governmental level is indeed wrong. But for once in their lives, the Indian people that hide behind the mask of secular democracy, and ‘it’ll be alright on the night Jack’ type of mentality, should accept the wrong that has been done by the INDIAN GOVERNMENT, and call spade a spade. The killing of thousands of innocent people and sending over a hundred thousand to refugee camps is nothing but STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM.

Let there be peace, and let no one play an anti-minority card to get elected.

As in the words of Mr. Pockets - 'Peace to all that read this'. Ameen.

:k: Right on target.

I think our Indian guppies are apprehensive just like many liberal minded Pakistanis when the MMA won. I really don’t see other Indian states going the same way unless you have situation where something on the lines of 9/11 occurs. It has to be huge to make all of the country to explode a la Gujarat

CH: you got be kidding man...there has been no decentralization..what has happened is that with the demise of Congress and slow rise of BJP, there has been some period of time when regional parties gained some ground. There has been no change in constituion or laws governing the states and centre's relationship. What has changed that makes you think their has been decentrlization? As soon as one party takes over center with stronger majority, you will see the same old 80s.

So just because the anti-muslim violence did not spread out side of Gujrat it makes it OK as long as it stays within Gujrat? What I am saying is every state has some kind of minority and by playing this game at local level majority group will try to gain power at state level...it may not be BJP in all states but some other groups different in different states.

history tells us that all the oppresive and facist have used public and democracy for thier evil designs
hitler had won the mandate by a the elections ins a very democratic manner where the population was 100 % litreate
serbia the serbian nationalist were also elected by thier people and same people used thier public opinion to slaughter innocent muslims
mark my words same thing is happening in gujrat and though the facist are celebrating now but this will eventually destroy india

i hope modi keeps his word

My government is not just for those who voted for me. It is also for those who vehemently opposed the BJP. Every one of the 5 crore Gujaratis has equal rights over my government. But our aim will be appeasement of none and justice to all," said Modi

http://www.ndtv.com/template/template.asp?template=Gujaratelections&slug=Modi+elected+BJP+legislature+party+leader&id=10848&callid=0&category=National

I think Modi government will behave with more responsibility now as they have a massive mandate.

WELL i dissagree with this notion
i think bjp and the facist have tasted blood here they have realised that by evoking passions and hatred they have won the elections no matter what they say now just mark my words there will be a anti muslim voilence in uttar pradesh and kerala soon
and it will be a very clever game vhp and bajrang dal will commit murders and bjp will wash its hands away
