Nap time

Who is still fond of nap time? Who used to have it like a must in childhood?

My mom had always been very strict on that. And we were like Noooooooo.. But we had to.

With curtains all over the windows and doors shut. Nobody was dared to utter a word and do nothing but sleep.

I'm sure for many after growing up it feels like a blessing to nap lol

My body needs it during certain periods whether I like it or not but I often wake up with headaches and feeling nauseous -__-

Yes I know some people do need the relaxation which is fine ofcourse. But I’m just curious to know if someone “had to” go through mandatory afternoon naps in childhood and if people still do it

Meee! I actually enjoyed taking naps in the afternoon after school but it was only a must during summer time. I usually don’t have time to take naps now but sometimes I give in. This past Sunday I had 3 hrs before a meeting so I decided to take a nap for like an hr… Well I overslept and work up 3 1/2 hrs later… it was totally worth being an hr late to the meeting. :snooty:

It was a must to sleep after returning from school...I used to nap later on too but now I try to avoid having naps because it disturbs my night sleep. I sleep earlier and better at night if I haven't taken a nap during the day.

*I distinctly remember Power Naps during the Hot Summer Months and before Electricity came to our small village!

The elders would take the Naps and us children’s responsibility for one of us was to POWER THE BIG Ceiling Hung FLAT FANS we had to PULL by HAND POWER!..:bummer:*

I have the same issue :smack:

No nap time for me bro..haven’t taken any afternoon nap for past 4-5 years. Especially last three years have been very tough. Abhi bhi..go to bed around 12 midnight waking up at fajr..
I have certain goal and need to establish something which i have been really looking forward to..

We didn't have any mandatory afternoon naps. Tab waise bhi neend nahin aya karti thi during the day.

Now on the other hand...

So I’m not a nap person at all and power nap is also not my thing. But a couple of Ramadhan back I was having hard time in staying up due to not taking caeffine so I went in garage and snoozed in my car for a little while. and felt sooo good after that. Then I realized the importance of power nap lol.

When we siblings get together we often pick on each other remembering those days as some of us got smacked for not complying by the nap rules lol.

Aur phr jb aap brey ho gye tou bachon se yehi kaam apne bhi liya hoga? :hmmm:

I m sure there must be some healthy benefits of taking a nap because its a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Mohammad :saw2:

My routine of taking a nap in afternoon has never been changed since my childhood.
Luckily, most of the people here still follow it. This place is still rich in Islamic, cultural and traditional values.
Most of the markets, malls, stores, shops get closed in afternoon. They continue after Asr prayer. So, its always been easy for me too.

Naps make me feel like I’m waking up in a different dimension/a different planet/at least a different time zone :D

Do you wake up feeling like a zombie? That’s what I feel like for a few minutes before getting back to normal:bummer:

It takes me a minute or two to orient myself, recall what year it is, and where I am haha

Kidrey chand tey tey nae turr gye tusi? :omg:
