What does this mean when someone is talking about someone’s shakal.
I know namkeen is salty but in this context didn’t make sense

It’s a compliment. It’s hard to explain, but to begin with, it requires wheetish skin complexion, I guess

I think so. For further reference, please refer to the all time chichora song, samandar main nahaa ke aur bhi, namkeen ho gai tu …, and look at the complexion of the female actress

Namkeen compliment did not come from the song. It was only used in that song. Aunty doesn’t need to know that song to give that compliment.

namkeen means vo chehraa jis par namak ho matlab dilkash jamaal…chehre kii rangat koii bhii ho saktii hai magar saaNwli salaunii par sunte haiN k namak ziyaada hotaa hai.

So it’s a kind of attractive as you see on darker ppl.
