- “You will be called on the day of Judgement by your names and your fathers names, so therefore, choose beautiful names.” (Sunnan of Abu Dawud, Hadith 4930)*
Naming a child with a beautiful and honourable name is very important. The Prophet (SAW) always chose names with good and beautiful meanings, even telling people to change their names if they had unpleasant meanings.
It is sinful to use names lke Rahman, Razzaq, Ghaffar, Quddus for anyone else but Allah. One should abstain from calling Abdul Rehman as Rehman, Abdul Khaliq as Khaliq, Abdul Ghaffar as Ghaffar and Abdul Razzaq as Razzaq, for doing so is very wrong.
