Names which are forbidden in Islam

Is it makrooh to use names such as Malaika, Jibreel, Mikyle?

Re: Names which are forbidden in Islam

Peace zimzimma,

As per my knowledge No. :)

btw why ur asking?

Re: Names which are forbidden in Islam

NO...as long as you do not add a prefix "AL/AR" [THE]...like you can NOT name a child Al-Jibreel, Al_Mikail etc...i'm saying this because Quddus can be a name but Al-Quddus is NOT permissible because it is one of Allah's 99 names.

Re: Names which are forbidden in Islam

Ah ok, reason i ask is because i read this How to Name a Child in Islam - Islam Question & Answer and wanted to confirm.

yes, of course...Quddus is a valid name...ReHman is also a valid name but prefixing it with **"Abd-ur"**** is advisable/recommended/preferred **:)
