Abdul means *banda. *So when you attribute Abdul before a name of Allah, for example ***Haadi, **Abdul Haadi *would mean *banda rasta dekhane waala (the [human] Guide), *as opposed to just *Haadi, *which means The Guide and refers to Allah & Allah alone. Let me put it this way, Abdul Haadi means A (human) Guide, and Haadi means The Guide (referring to Allah).
Same goes for all other 98 names of Allah.

However Ali is one of Allah’s 99 names…but we use Ali and a Khalif was named ali…so why is it ok there?
