Re: Names- Ali vs al-ali a question
PyariCgudia:
Actually, according to Aalim online (of course I do not have any particular reference, since the maulvis actually could not come up with one…and Aamir Liaqat did have an issue about this…anyway, you’d have to see that episode to understand what I’m talking about):
All names of Allah have Abdul in front of it. Just because you’re used to saying “naaser” or “Rehman” , etc, without the Abdul. It doesn’t matter. **Chances are the legal name has an Abdul in front of it, if the family did the naming right. **
Can’t make assumptions.
The only name that does not legally have to have “Abdul” in front of it, is actually Ali.
Now, having cleared that up, neither of the aalim online scholars could come up with a sufficient argument as to why Ali is excluded from the list. They claimed that Ali and Al-Ali are two different entities. But when Aamir Liaqat argued that by the same logic, Rehman and Al-Rehman are separate identities, so why do we use Abdul Rehman?.. No one had an answer. They just kept insisting that Ali and Al-Ali are different names.
This my friends, is an excellent example of where through history, politics and religion were mixed together to no good end.
Actually YOU should stop taking such alims seriously, seems like you only watch TV for all your knowledge. If what you are telling is true then they were not knowledgeable aalims. Even our school Islamiat teachers knew the difference between Rehman and Al-Rehman, Ali and Al-Ali. Better start reading books than TV atleast for your religious information.
