Here is my list . please keep in mind that i didn’t see ANY dramas between 2001 - 2008 and only recently resumed watching dramas.

  1. Doraha (Mehreen Jabbar) - 2009
  2. Zebunissa (Sahira Kazmi) - 2000
  3. Daam (Mehreen Jabbar) - 2010
  4. Malal (Mehreen Jabbar) - 2010
  5. Meri Zaat Zara (I am not crazy about this drama but it’s definitely better than “bol meri machli”, “Ishq junoon dewangi”, "castle aik umeed ", “man-o-salwa”) - 2010

Most nonsensical drama:

I think these days the long plays tend to have a better storyline and acting than the regular episodic dramas that we are used to. Unfortunately the long plays are not advertised so much so we end up missing quite a bit of good stuff that is being produced or directed by folks who don't have the money or need to direct 20 episode serials.

I don't even remember what came out back in 2000 to tell you the truth.
Recently it has been the Mehreen+Umera combo.
Bushra Ansari's Kuch Dil ne Kaha
Rubina Ashraf's Vanee
there was one which was Nabeel's first directed play with Sania Saeed and Talat Hussain I believe. Don't recall the name but it was good
Then Sahira Kazmi did a play w/ Rahat and Marina where Marina played mom to Ali Kazmi. It was about the dying state of good music. It was a good effort and better than all the trash that was being churned out 5 years ago.
I think Lahaasil and Wujood-e-Laraib were again good efforts based on Umera's stories. They helped highlight Faiza Hasan's acting talents.

those are the ones that I remember watching and enjoying.

Very difficult question as my memory is abysmal and there has been tonnes of dramas since. Anyhow I'll try...

The reason i asked about the last decade is coz there have been many discussions on "best dramas ever made" and the dramas that end up on the list are always old PTV dramas. I am interested in knowing which contemporary ones are worth the watch but were buried under all the gazillion dramas that came out with the sudden influx of tv channels.

ah I forgot about Umrao Jaan Ada - that was good!
Haven't heard of Dhool.

^ Dhool stars Badar Khalil, Atiqa Odho, Mohd Ahmed, ZQ and others. Drama was short, sweet and simple. ZQ's acting was acceptable for a change!
