I was wondering if any brother/sister might want to share some of their Duas? I usually have Ayatul Kursi + 4 Quls in my duas and was wondering if you might suggest other surahs from the Quran? Something that will allow me to beg forgiveness for the day to day sins and help me stay on the right path of Al-Islam.
Although I feel like I am doing the right things daily, there are instances of weakness or malice that I wish to avoid. As humans we committing sins both wittingly and unwittingly, so I want to humble myself before Allah and his divine grace.
Also, I feel like a hypocrite because I call on him during the difficult times, while I don’t give him same recognition during the good times.
MashAllah bro you seem to be on a right path.. to answer your question, I think it's not words which matter the most, it's the intention of making the dua and also the intensity of it.. a simple dua in any language with a drop of tear can be heard in 7th heaven.. plus the time counts a lot.. i.e. Tahujud time, the time of breaking your fast, during the azan etc..

Thank you brother, your kind words are most appreciated. I usually give dua after Isha prayers - I feel that I am able to best reflect on the day.
May Allah show us the right path, every day. Ameen.
what a beautiful thought. If you are seeking for His help, rest assure that He will help you :k:
If you are asking for His forgiveness, then may be you should readd Astaghfaar as much as possible. I mean the full version.
Read Hazart Younus Duaa, Laillaha Illa Anta Subhaanaka Inni… ( i hope u know it , if not let me know) This was the duaa Hazrat Younus would recite when he was in whale’s stomach to ask forgivness from Allah.
Other than that personally I read Surah Waqiya after Isha prayer. Surah Muzamil, Rehman and Yaseen, one of them on Jummah, as that day is off from work and I get time to say prayer in a relaxed mood.
Last 2 ayat of Surah Baqra are of very high importance. They were gift from Allah to Mohammed PBUH when he went on Miraaj. So try learning them by heart.
Rest try to be a nice person, a fair and honest one. InshAllah once you are on right track, no one can distract u to something wrong.

Yes Mc is right. Make duaa during Azan , specially when the moazin says, Haiya Alal Falah" " hurry towards success." thats the point when one should make duaa and its accepted :)
Brother, can you point me towards a non jpg version of the duas? Or help me make them larger? I would like to print them out and be able to recite them properly.
I am trying to put together a set of duas after Isha prayers. I’ll keep Astaghfaar (full version on my mind).
Hazrat Younus Dua is a good one, I totally glanced over it. I’m in a prayer circle at the Islamic center and we recite Surah Rehman and Yaseen in our prayers to the community, but I have not learnt it by heart.
It looks like my work is cut out for me, I’ll create a word document of these prayers and upload them to GS inshallah. Living in a non-Muslim society, I always fear that sins that I have been committing and want to strengthen the imaan.
I asked everyone because my Shaykh is preparing to go on sabbatical to teach in the Middle East and I do not want to burden him unnecessarily. Besides I hope that this will help others seek the right and just path.
Also for the brothers/sisters who are always on the go/traveling and have a blackberry, they should download this app: BlackBerry App World - Quran Reader
Sure bro, i have got pdf and word file for this dua… If u want pdf or word file just send me a message. or u can just click on images and then open up on a separate page and will be easier to read.
