Name printing on invites - What looks better?

hi there,
okay girls tell me what u think would look better on the invitation cards for my wedding:

1- if we arrange a painter (they have really good handwriting) to write the name of each guest on the envelope

2- get names printed in a fancy manner out of an ordinary laser printer and stick those to the cards

???

Re: What looks better ?

Lol, can't anyone you know do this for free?

I can do okay calligraphy and have the appropriate pens so I wrote all the names on the envelopes for my cousins wedding cards. Then another cousin went ahead and nicked the idea but her helper clearly didn't know how to do proper calligraphy scripts and it looked messy.

Names printed out and stuck to the card are okay if they are labels. You should probably get this done professionally, as they have nice labels and nice inks, unlike what would come out of a home printer.

Re: What looks better ?

1...i love calligraphy
i just got an invitation...with my names and address return so beautifully.

so do i :)
howz prep going ?

Re: What looks better ?

depends on your budget I would say ;)

better you select the second choice of your information because it may interact the quests and everyone and the model and thanks for sharing your thoughts to us...

Re: What looks better ?

sara, I think both options are doable. It really depends upon your choice and budget.

If I really had to choose, I'd go with option 1 but really both will look nice. :)

Re: What looks better ?

hmmm wow another great idea for the wedding cards... is it possible to learn how to do caligraphy?

i'd certainly not do it myself, i plan on getting it done by someone.
here in pakistan we can easily find really talented people, they usually paint billboards and banners, but can also do such calligraphy.
and would prove to be so cheap to hire :)

Calligraphy wins so far :)

Re: Name printing on invites - What looks better?

Please do post the contact info here if you find a such a person. I am sure many brides would love to know. :)

Re: Name printing on invites - What looks better?

is english their first language, or would you be addressing the envelopes in urdu? i'm just wondering how labour-intensive it is to proof calligraphy in pakistan?

Re: Name printing on invites - What looks better?

**I would go for the first option.

But Y not both ?:@: I mean One option For VIP (special family guest) and one for friends :@:.
(just an idea :))

Re: Name printing on invites - What looks better?

yes true ....
both could also be a good option, but i think i'd be e-mailing a scanned copy to most of my frnds :P
as far as their english is concerned, they would only be writing "Mr. and Mrs. Ahmed Bilal with Family" i dont think that would be much of a problem.

Re: Name printing on invites - What looks better?

Well what my cousin did was his name and his wifes name was printed on, and then who they addressed it too they wrote that in fancy handwriting.

Re: Name printing on invites - What looks better?

I will go with option 1
