Yes I am huge fan of Transformers..so i made up my own character..Xtron. Well of course, local urdu papers at least here in Toronto. There are gazillions of aunties lets say from NY if you are from America..who register boys and girls and matching them up with potential spouses. Xtron doesn’t know where you are from..otherwise he will try to post up some contact details for these aunties…

Jeez. I find this to be ridiculous. Why do you need to go online to find someone? Anyone in your social contacts in terms of people that you like hanging out with?

I say throw a huge party, invite random people and let there be revelry. If you dont find someone, at least two other people will find each other. You never know. :halo:

I should be talking, this is what I need to do, and in the past when I’ve had parties and invited over random people or invited people out to eid dinners and such there is always a good opportunity to meet new people. Folks will bring their friends and such.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with you wanting your wife to be a hijjaban. As with all things, it's a matter of preference and if that's what makes you happy, good for you for knowing that about yourself. But, do remember to look beyond the hijab as well. That's one aspect of her, but it's not all that defines her.

I guess you missed the part where I said I have a limited social circle and that also has non muslims in it. I have never been into parties and stuff in fact I get a headache in crowded and noisy places

Shaadi.com does work.. I know a couple of people who ended up marrying partners from there..

If I was looking I’d much prefer an online site to an auntie.. Having heard some of the rubbish the aunties come out with (inc about my SIL ‘she’s from a lower class so at least she will look after you’ to my mum ) I wouldn’t go near one for marriage purposes.. From what I’ve seen with girls their backgrounds and lifestyles are looked at in ten times more detail whilst with boys most things are are excused, ignored or glossed over.. (We know of a guy who owns a club and were told by the same auntie he needs a ‘decent’ and ‘homely’ girl, conveniently forgetting what he does for a living)..

My 2012 resolution is to get hitched insha Allah. Not having family around and due to a limited social circle I am unable to find decent prospects in the geographical region I am living.

So I thought to give this online channel a try but I am only aware about one site called Shadi.com and over there not many US residing pakistani guys are registered. Do you guys know about any other sites other then GupShup where people can actually find proper rishtas?
