NAMAZ QUESTIONS *specificaly*

got a few mesail on NAMAZ .. i really wanted to figure !

  1. suppoz i went to mesjid for MEGHRIB prayer and missed out first RAKAT, now i prayed 2nd and 3rd rakat with molvi but ive to make up the first one i skipped too rite ? so after everybody does salam. i stand up to make up my first rakaat ..

ok my questions are …

  1. i wud have to pray 3 consecative ATEHIYATs in all 3 rekaats .. is that ok ?
  2. while praying 3rd rakaat with molvi mine 2nd do i pray FATIHA only or join a soret since its my senond ?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

  1. Yes, that is how it is.

  2. it is the third one of the salah (even though it is second of yours), you follow the Imaam. Now there are two opinions. One is that behind the imaam, you do not recite any surah for recitation of imaam (even if it is Khafi - in the heart) is enough. the other opinion says that you can read surah Fatiha in your heart. In any case, the other surah is not recited.

As a result, when you get up to pray your first rakaah after tha salaam, you recites Surah Fatiha along with a surah and complete it with the way you end any other salah.

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

Is it Haram to pray any namaaz (i.e. kazaa, or nafl) during Sunset (before maghrib & after Asr)? Same for dawn?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

It is makrooh to pray at sunrise, middle of the day before the start of Dhu'ar and at just before the sunset but one MUST pray a salah if it will be qadhaa if not prayed at that time.

After As'r, you can pray qadhaa prayers but any other nawaafil should not be prayed.

(This is a response according to Ahnaaf.)

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

Ok, thanx

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

ok jazakAllah

one more question bhai jaan !

ok i know its dumb but i want to make sure i m not doing it wrong !

  1. suppoz i come in late and joins molvi in first rekaat but the silence times is already gone when u read subhanakAllah .. u said we cant read surrets while molvi is reciting but do we have to read that subhanakAllah anyways or just skip it ?

  2. one more dumb question .. i know there is some hadith saying .. dont pray very fast and dont pray really slow either and dont close your eyes but if its for concintration. ok but like when we finish ATEHIYAT before imam and ready to do salam .. r we suppoz to stay silent while molvi finishes up or can we like add something for sake of time ?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

According to my knowledge, yes, you do read At-Taahyiaat three times…(It onlyhappens in the Maghrib prayer)

From what I know, you just do as regular prayers until you break off from the Jamaat…No Ayah is needed…

Also, if you forget AlHamd, your Salat is void…However, if you forget an Ayah, then your Salat is still valid…(However, I do not remember if you have to do a Sajda-e-Sehv after that…)

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

shukriya lajwab bhai .. got 2 more question though .. if u cud help with them too .. jazakAllah !

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

“subhankAllah…” is not a “farz” for a raka’at, hence reading or not reading of it doesn’t matter, as long as you joined the jama’at in standing position (before going to ruk’u you are fine (your 1st raka’at is complete).

Normally if you recite at’tahyaat, durood and istaghfaar dua you’ll end up finishing just in time, but if you are fast reciter you may say other duas.

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

jazakAllah bhai saaab !

ok for this second one .. u can do ASTEGHFAR after DAROOD ? and cud u plz be more specific in wat kind of DUAz ur talking abt ? do they got to be outa QURAN or arabic even ?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

Hey, one more question: Can we read Quran during these times mentioned above?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

can anyone answer pleeez ?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

One point I wanted to mention as I have been told and doing, that third rakaat is actually be considered as your ‘first’ rakaat since thats the one you missed. So recite Subhana_Kallahuma in third rakaat.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

Since we are on Namaz section I thought I bring this up.

Some people also mention cutting the number short for convenience. Off course more is better.

Lets say: (Hanafi)

1- Fajar (Same number- 2 Sunnah, 2 farad)

2- Zuhur A-(4 Sunnah, 4 farad, 2 Sunnah) OR B- (4 farad, 2 Sunnah)

3- A'sar (4 farad)

4- Maghrib (3 farad, 2 Sunnah)

5- I'sha (4 farad, 2 Sunnah, 3 Vit'r)

Correct or not?

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

Sorry didn’t check back this thread.

There are some recommended duas out of Quran and some not from Quran, you can read any of those duas, if you are unable to recall any feel free to ask whatever you want in Urdu/English/French. I personally read these:

“rabbana aatina fid-dunya hasana…”
“rabbana laa tuzigh quloobuna…”

Re: NAMAZ QUESTIONS specificaly

the obligatory prayers r the fardh, which r cut short only during travel…
2 fardh for zuhr, 2 for asr, 2 for ishaa, fajr and magherb remaining same…

sunnah and nawafil r not obligatory and hence u pray as much as u can and u can skip whatever u think is difficult for u to offer…

^ Thanks A million. (J.A.K.)
I think this does give another indication that Islam is not that difficult as we end up making it.
