Re: ~ Namaaz
I think it's just a decision. Put an alarm on your cell phone for each time.
My husband always has wudhu so when he breaks it, he does it right away because sometimes not having wudhu is actually what keeps you away from it.
Re: ~ Namaaz
as i said b4 to a similar question from another poster, buy a clock that calls out azaan. pray to Allah to guide you and make you a regular namaazii...put a note on the wall in your room so u could see when you enter your room...that sign may say something like: "How many times did u say ur namaaz?" that reminder helps! i've tested that myself :)

SO TRUE! One of my main and ever reasons of missing my salaat is because of wudhu.
Try to pray it exactly on time so your not delying it, I think once you really get into the habit of it (give yourself a good 40 days period of praying without missing any) then it'll become easier inshallah. Life will seem uncomplete without it
Re: ~ Namaaz
i agree. i mentioned before: organize ur life around salah. for example, when you go out and u know there is no area to pray, read ur salahs for that time period before you go (i.e on time).
also try to maintain a state of wudhu.
maybe even have a buddy system. espeically for fajr..where u guys can call each other up at fajr time and remind each other to pray (like an alarm).
Re: ~ Namaaz
afshi - sounds like your saying you pay prior to namaz time?
Re: ~ Namaaz
no i mean, for example...if wanted to go out and watch a movie, i woudl pick a showtime that won't interfere with my namaz time....so like either befoer Asr (which is around 7ish here), or after Maghrib (which is around 9ish). that way I could pray my namaz at home. I woudlnt want to catch an 8pm show, since I know I know I will be missing my maghrib namaz.
for most restaurants that i go to, i usually pray there, or in the car.
Re: ~ Namaaz
You can upload a software of Adhaan and Namaz time in your cell phone. However, its all depends on our intention and little efforts.
Re: ~ Namaaz
and these days zhuhr is at 1:30ish and asr is at 7ish..which is great..it means taht i have enough time after work to go out and run errands (ok, i really mean shop) before i come home, cook dinner and pray.
in the winter/fall there is less of a gap between salah.
Re: ~ Namaaz
Some Great Ideas. :)
Re: ~ Namaaz
Some really great ideas! .. Def. the wudhu part is what at times makes me lazy. I'm going to try to download the salah time for my mobile and then add an alarm. Thank you guys :)
Re: ~ Namaaz
Salah saves you from the punishment of the grave!!
That should do it.

*it's just the opposite in winter :) i find it very difficult to pray zohr, asar and maGhrib at work...i somehow, alHamdolillah, manage to do it anyways :) *

On the day of the judgement the first question u will be asked is about namaz

**correct...and, out of the five pillars of Islam, the salaat becomes obligatory right after shahaadah for life...there is no ruKhsat [exemptions]. a muslim is required to offer prayer in ALL conditions even in the battlefield...you may be allowed to defer a prayer [in case of women having their periods] or may be reduced during illness, travel, battles...u can never just forget about namaaz...if you are sick you may do it while sitting, if you can't sit you are supposed to pray laying down, if u are unable to move ur body u may do it by the movement of ur eyes ... even the vudhu is NOT required if water isn't available or if there is a danger of ur illness to get worse.
so...namaaz is NOT forgiven in any circumstance.
"namaaz paRho is se pahle k tumhaarii namaaz [namaaz-e-janaazah] paRhii jaaye"...
May Allah give us taufeeq and seHat and hidaayat to perform namaaz as it should be performed...aameen...jaisa k namaaz kaa Haq hai!!!**
Re: ~ Namaaz
Good advices up there. Also, when you start off there are lazy times and you miss a prayer, so what you can try is that by the end of the day say qadaa for any prayers that you might have missed. The satisfaction of completing your prayers will motivate you to be regular and build a habit. It worked for me and my husband.
Re: ~ Namaaz
Pray Nafali namaz as much as we can b'coz when there is Farz Namaz r missing, they'll be completed by Nafal Namaz.
Re: ~ Namaaz
I couldn't comprehend what you wrote LKK. Do you mean nafl salah will compensate for any missed fard salah?

**i think what he is trying to say is that if you have missed namaaz in the past, one of the ways Allah might forgive you if you had a treasure of nawaafil. we call it "qazaa-e-umrii" which is, in fact, nawaafil namaaz. a lot of muslims do that.
i do myself...i pray extra nawaafil equivalent to the farz namaaz with each namaaz time ... like i offer extra 2 rak'at for fajr at fajr time, an extra 4 rak'ats at zohr time, 4 rak'ats at asr, 3 rak'ats at maGhrib and 4 rak'ats at ishaa namaaz time in leu of/to compensate the prayers i've missed in my life. it's NOT a sure thing but we may hope that Allah, out of His Mercy and Kindness, may accept my nawaafil for missed farz namaazeN...aameen**
