Namaaz

Salaam, This may seem a bit of a weird question?.. but
why should we read namaaz?
I know that i should but i cannot think of a reason other than that we are commanded to by Allah (SWT)

Re: Namaaz

You don’t have to and it is better if you don’t “read” namaz because I need people that can be used as fuel for hell fire. You can be my guest over there for as long as you want.

The Devil you know is better than the one you don't, So won't you be, won't you be, my neighbor

Re: Namaaz

Nowhere in the Qur’an are we told to ‘perform salaah’. It always says: ‘establish salaah’. So that should tell you that the regularity is more important than the mere act of performing salaah. There are countless advantages of praying, both spiritually and physically. The most important, however, is that it helps you remember Allah at all times. If you think about the times of the prayers, you will notice that we pray to Allah at all the different stages of the day. We could have been told to pray for so many hours at once during the week, but that would not help us keep in touch with God at all times and for a Muslim, the remembrance of Allah and being aware of His existence is the most important thing.

As for the physical advantages of praying, even a Class 6 ka bacha would tell you (because that’s when they teach you if I’m not mistaken) :hehe: To name a few … punctuality, purity, cleanliness, interaction with the community etc.

Re: Namaaz

^^ Aah interaction with the community. Never thought of that.

Re: Namaaz

To name a few;
1)your day to day sins are forgiven
2)purifies your soul/relaxes your body (meditation)
3)builds and develops a connection with God
4)keeps you on the right track mentally (esp if you understand the meaning)
5)reminds you of your purpose and place in this world(keepsyou focused)
6)you can unload your daily problems and worries onto God.
7) you can humbly appreciate Gods gift to humans.
8)If read properly, instills qualities like increase concentration span, patience, better hygiene, punctuality (if read on time), etc. there're too many, i think i'll write a book and send you a copy.

from what ive noticed tho, without prayers, we become overly materialistic, life in general becomes somewhat devoid of meaning. salah becomes a regular breather in the day to day hectic schedule. Abit like oxygen actually.
