NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

Is it true that Namaaz cannot be performed whilst wearing nail varnish?

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

yep, scholars say that since its waterproof and does not allow water to reach the nails (which must be washed for wudoo) hence the ablution is not complete....

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

^ what if wudu was performed before nail varnish?

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

do the nails not have to be cleaned from underneath where dirt can accumulate?

I didn't know they needed to be cleaned from the top...

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

they need to be washed from the top....

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

No, Technically you can perform namaz wearing nail polish.

But it creates hindrance in wuzu and ghusal. Just like you can't do ghusal wearing a showercap

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH…

how abt if the polish is chipped and half off :halo:

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH…

then you have half-wudu :halo:

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

Yes, you can apply it after doing Wuzu and then have Namaz as long as you do not need to do wuzu again there is no need to remove it.

But for the new Wuzu you have to remove it and then after Wuzu you can apply it agin.

The best option is to use Hina on Nails if you need to color, by that your Nails will be colored and also you can do Wuzu without any problem (although the choice of color will be very limited)

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

the whole reasoning is that water cannot reach the nails because it's water proof? am I right?

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

Thats true! and Also if you have Lip Gloss (Stick) Water proof that has tobe removed before Wuzu even the normal enamal Paint and Oil comes in same category

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

I have Questions too :
What about when face cream is put on the face
And Lip stick (waterproof, isnt it)
Or Foundation?

You know to me, Is better to pray then not to say the prayers stating that one has nail polish on their nails....

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

I don't think the face cream completely blocks out water as compared to nail polish/varnish which is pretty thick and requires special chemical to be removed.... lipstick also doesn't block all water, IMO, if there are kinds they do then that'd need to be removed as well.

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

Armughal, can you answer this question from above please?

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

i have question aswel, if i have done wuzu once a day and don't cover my head with scarf or any thing can i still pray in that wuzu?

Re: NAMAAZ AND NAIL VARNISH...

^ uncovering of scarf shouldn't invalidate your wudu.

PK786: removing scarf or any other cloth does not effect wuzu. You can Do Wuzu with Ghusal and then you don't have to cover yourself. There are set thing which invalidate wuzu and removing cloth is not one of them

Amber11 These days in market more and more makup items are available which are waterproof in most of items it clearly marks WATERPROOF. If you use any product on the body parts which do not let your skin absorb water then before Wuzu you have to remove them.

It is said that if such products cover area smallar then old 50 Paisas coin or 20p then wuzu is valid. According to Fiqh Hanfi if the person is in a profession where he has to deal with such products Like Painter, Shoe polisher, wax maker or Oil Murchant then he just wash his hands three time and he do not need to remove these products completely. If one is not in such professions then he has to remove them.

This is not only for women but also if men use such products they have to remove it before Wuzu.
