PCB is such a mess. Cricket used to be an inspiration for Pakistanis, something they look towards to have some enjoyment. But right now its such a frustration. First with all how Pakistanis are kept isolated and then now its own board getting choked by its own ppl.
Sadly, its nothing but disappointment all over when I think about our country.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cricket’s power struggle escalated Tuesday as the government appealed to the Supreme Court to reinstate Najam Sethi as the head of the board.
The Islamabad High Court in February had overturned an order from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to appoint Sethi and oust Zaka Ashraf as chairman.
The high court’s ruling reinstated Ashraf for a second time after he was initially suspended in May last year over his dubious election.
The Ministry for Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), which oversees sports affairs in the country, has asked the apex court to annul the high court’s decision after its appeal was rejected in the IHC earlier in the day.
“This appeal is against the Islamabad High Court judgment which wrongfully suspended the (order) by the PM,” Asma Jahangir, the government’s lawyer, told AFP.
Ashraf took charge on Monday and vowed to review all the decisions made under Najam Sethi.
This means chief selector Moin Khan, head coach Waqar Younis, batting coach Grant Flower of Zimbabwe and spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed may lose their positions after being appointed earlier this month.
Since taking over Ashraf has removed PCB legal adviser Taffazul Rizvi with immediate effect.

SC suspends IHC ruling reinstating Zaka Ashraf as PCB chief - Pakistan - DAWN.COM**
**KARACHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday suspended the Islamabad High Court’s earlier decision of reinstating Zaka Ashraf as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, DawnNews reported.**
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali heard the case against Ashraf’s reinstatement on a plea filed by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC).
During the hearing, Asma Jahangir on behalf of the ministry said that the IHC’s intrusion in matters of policy may lead to undermining the sport of cricket.
Subsequently, the court annulled the IHC’s decision given by Justice Nurul Haq Qureshi that ordered the reinstatement of Ashraf.
The apex court moreover issued notices to the parties involved for May 27 and adjourned the hearing of the case.
The petition had pleaded before the SC to set aside the high court order and by restoring Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) 4-14/2008-IPC-S-11 former PCB boss Najam Sethi be restored along with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) set up on Feb 10 for 90 days.
On May 17, the IHC had suspended a management committee appointed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and reinstated Ashraf as chief of the cricket board. Sharif had sacked Ashraf on Feb 10 this year and had appointed a committee chaired by Najam Sethi to oversee cricketing matters.

Opponents used to hate ZAB for his arrogance post 71' era. Guess what I have yet to see a stubborn and selfish man as Nawaz Sharif. He is ruining the country as well as the only sports ppl watch.
Both sides should step down. Make Arif Abbasi Administrator for 2 years and let him chose the top tier admin team. There is nobody in the country better than him to run PCB.
Once things get under control and PCB constitution fully implemented. Let the election happen and be done with it forever. The Patron in chief should not have rights to 'appoint' anyone.

i agree with you SG, they are ruining the future of cricket in Pakistan due to their stubbornness to stay in power. N$ should let these two take a hike and appoint someone who will prove to be good for the game...

Najam Sethi has been restored as the PCB chairman by the Supreme Court today. The SC has suspended the decision to reinstate the former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf.
The acting Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, a three-member bench of the top court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case today.
On the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] of this month, the Islamabad High Court had reinstated Ashraf as the PCB chairman. Justice Noorul Haq had termed Ashraf’s removal illegal, and raised doubts about the formation of the management committee that worked under Sethi.
The government had appealed to the Supreme Court yesterday to reinstate Sethi as the head of PCB. Ashraf and Sethi have both been removed and reinstated three times in a row.
