really interesting interview…sethi did a great job asking every controversial question upfront in a civilized way…and qadri did a good job in making his case…

this Qadri guy has raised an interesting dilemma though...in his 2 hr public speech on dec 23rd, he took oath on Allah and his Rasul and Ganbad Khizra to say that not even one dollar was taken from any agency external or internal ...... and in today's show he further explained the process of fund collection....now all those "mazhabi thekhedar" on this forum who lecture "infidels" like me all the time are bound to believe him and not criticize or question this guy's financial integrity as he is taking an oath on Allh and Rasul....unless they have some specific proofs...no?

I was not convinced about his explanation of his stance and involvement in blasphemy/hadood law. He said he agrees on substantial portion but disagrees on procedural. I am also not convinced that his Minhaj ul Quran organization has 50 sub-departments and they are spread in over 90 countries worldwide and have more than 100,000 members. And according to him the basis of his funding for these jalsay and marketing campaign has been those members. Even a cab driver somewhere in europe has contributed 1000 euros.
Besides these two issues, he makes some very good and valid points in this interview.

A religious scholoar is always a fantstic orator. It comes very handy when you need to speak live on television as you can always relay your message successfully in a short span of time. I always wished IK was that eloquent.

That is the big reason why IK has not become seasonal politician even after 12 years. Either he has no brains or lack in understanding Pakistani politics.

Sethi is one of the sharpest journalists in Pakistan (of the ones that I know, probably the best). He asked all the tough questions without insulting or provoking qadri.
I didn't listen to Qadri's speech nor any of his interviews. This is the first one I saw and he comes across as intelligent, very sharp and fast off the cuff. He made his case very well with some very valid points.
All and all, a well conducted interview.

First good decision by IK.
Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Friday, Mr Alvi said his party opposed the present system but not the Constitution. The Constitution would help in replacing the obsolete system through elections.
He made it abundantly clear that the PTI would not participate in the planned long march.
