I know it sounds gross but i’m so sad i’ve got them in 3 finger nails n 4th one shows sign too. for all this time i didn’t even know wat was going on. my nail tip(the white part) is becoming wider n eating away the pink base. anyone else experienced it? should i go to GP or derma or is there any over the counter treatment?

my son had it, the doctor said cream will not make it better since the nail will have to fall off eventually.. i still purchased the over counter fungus cream and it did not help at all his nails eventually fell off from the root. The cream we used was Tinactin about $14 might want to consult your doctor and give it a shot

You need antibiotics for it, so you need to go to your GP. I think it's called Terbinafine. It'll take some time to clear up, but it will clear up. If it's fairly new, then that's good because it will clear quicker, if not, then don't worry, it will go away, but it will be slower. There is also a nail cream which is applied like nail varnish, but that gives slow results, whereas the tablets give quicker results.
