Re: Nafs
Assalamualaikum
I dont know exactly the meaning of “nafs”
But Allah describes three types of nafs in Quran, here these are:
1)Nafs e Mutmaina(Satisfied one)
[RIGHT]
يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ﴿٢٧﴾
[/RIGHT]*[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,(27)*surah fajr
- Nafs e Ammara(that which is evil)
[RIGHT]
وَمَا أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِيۚإِنَّ النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّيۚإِنَّ رَبِّي غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ﴿٥٣﴾[/RIGHT]
And I do not acquit myself. Indeed, the soul is a persistent enjoiner of evil, except those upon which my Lord has mercy. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."(53) surah yusuf
3)Nafs e Lawwama (the one which regrets of doing evil and repent)
[RIGHT]وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ﴿٢﴾[/RIGHT]
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].*(2)surah qayyamah
It means the good one also exists..
