In fact consciousness is the term given merely for the place of where exhibiting self-awareness happens. Mind is the abstract space where ideas are constructed. Nafs is the source that exhibits consciousness and desire, it is Id. Ruh is soul which can be objectified as being the vessel that contains life in a spiritual domain just as the body contains life in a physical domain. The spiritual domain is viewed by the heart where an action with intent is given weight in a similar way to the force of an object which is weight in the physical domain and the object is viewed by the eyes.
So the spiritual equivalent of object is spirit and the physical equivalent of spirit is object.

Rooh, as we religiously believe, is nothing but the order of Allah. Its not an entity as such (like Jins or Angels). At least that this what my understanding is.

Surah 17 : ayat 85
They ask thee concerning the Rooh. Say: "The Rooh (cometh) by **command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)"

Atheism by strict definition is the lack of belief in any spirit, angel, phoenixes, karma, holy spirit, supernatural entity or substance because with the help of science and analyzing and skepticism to disprove the existence of all above.

Can you provide a surah and ayat number(s)? You know it takes couple of weeks or more to read the whole Quran, so finding the reference will be a task.

Therefore if Sleep is like death where in death Rooh leaves the body, similarly during sleep Rooh leaves the body!

Thanks for the Quranic reference. I had heard about a a hadith which states that Allah takes the rooh away from the body when we sleep but this taking is little different than the taking away at death. However, sleep is refered to as the young sister of death in the hadith.

It's not about them ruling over us. It's more about we ruling over them.
If Nufs rules over us then, we are seriously going in a wrong direction and will be doomed forever.

rooh is the order of Allah 
rooh is the life of our body
when it leaves the body , we die
when it reaches hell, the body bears the pains
and when it reaches heavens the body senses comforts.
yea i also heard once that our spirits only meet those roohs of whom we think during the day time.
a study of parapsychology.
nafs= rooh + heart
soul + spirit = conscious
but then again mind is left alone

Mind is never left alone.It always rules over spirit and Nufs. Thoughts always create in mind and thoughts become things.
