God these shows are nice tries to copy the american morning shows but my god these two both are so far from there.
Nadia khan and Marina both are so over the line most of the time. They are so non-professional.
I understand Marina just started but my god–
you can most of the times see that their own guests are getting annoyed by the silly jokes and comments. I mean if someone is having a serious educational response Nadia is too busy trying to make her not so funny jokes. And c’mon I was just flipping through both of these shows and now you someone emailed Nadia and for their phone number they wrote —1-800-ROGERS and then put the numbers for ROGERS in brackets and can’t believe Nadia looked like an idiot not knowing what kind of number was rogers and then she said this must be some sort of service in Canada the paranthesis bracket she didn’t know.
On the other hand Marina was exercising with workout lady–she was wearing the same clothes she did the show in and then after the workout she remained in the same clothes disgusting.
any comments…sorry don’t mean to offend fans of the show–they do have really good guests sometimes but they act so immature it is annoying.
and you know private channels in pakistan are still in a very infantile state... u have to give them some time for them to become experienced and better in quality. but u must admit theyve come a long way in just a couple of years
the morning shows are supposed to be light hearted shows. they are different from the Today shows in the US where they go from political figures in the first half to how to make a cake in the 2nd half. I think for Pak the shows are very appropriate! Usually it is housewives who are watching the shows and they really seem to enjoy it w/ the feedback the shows have received. Don't compare them to US morning shows just because you live in the US ;-)
Just expressing my personal opinion--i already in advance said please no offense to the fans of the show--
why my opinion--yeah i know it doesn't matter but we have this entire discussion forum based on info, opinions, ideas--so i just threw it out there--
but still eventhough housewives are watching and calling --but c'mon like todays show for example --PLASTIC SURGEON for tummy tuck and other services--ok most of the girls calling were either single or under the age of 23--c'mon tummy tuck surgery is actually for obese people and not 10lbs here and there weightloss--also tummy tuck is not suggested for women who are still going to have babies--
none of those concerns were brought up and Nadia has nothing to do with it and infact she actually told couple of them to work out instead which i am surprised the surgeon didn't suggest.
also light hearted yeah that's ok but ln the middle of hosting you are like checking your hair--fixing it--all that is for the breaks--
plus when they bring their guests or topics they do not research on it at all--I mean even light hearted hosts should be prepared--do their homework--a little--not become experts...
anyhow it was just a topic for discussion not meant to bash anyone or offend anyone--
I think it would help if they get constructive feedback along with "nadia you look good today", "nadia i have tried so much to get through", "nadia love your hair today"--yeah a little of that is ok as well--
^^ no offence to u but seemz like u wants every thing in sequence, n according to the norms (set by western media)...i havent seen marina'z show but nadia is very bubbly, n its fun to watch her. (i enjoy her talks a lot)
she cant keep her quite...n things are running very fast in her mind...that is why she wont let the ppl to stick wid one thing...her approach let the viewer diagnose the situation from different angles.
i think it is better for u to stick wid **PTV news** (old is cold)

I guess i was wrong in thinking that maybe we will get some mature discussion out of this--I never said I minded the bubbly , light going show but--there were some things that I felt were unprofessional--why do we (pakistanis) always try to cut short or make excuses by saying "oh well this is a pakistani show don't compare to U.S" well why not? why shouldn't they be compared after all they are trying to copy them. And if they are trying to copy them then by all means do so but then do it right--
I mean the show "View" is light going--but they do their research --
Anyhow I guess there is no point in arguments-- I certainly didn't intend for that.
I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion and maybe instead of you are wrong I am right maybe we should stick to opinions about the show--
what you like, what you don't like, what they can improve etc...

I don't watch the shows very often. I think of them as shows to watch while eating your breakfast. I don't compare them to US shows at all. I think they are just there to provide some halka phulka entertainment and also give some information if they have a guest that's not part of the entertainment industry.
Again I don't think you should compare them to US based shows. They cater to the ladies in Pakistan who are sitting in front of the tv and sipping chai. That's why you get callers like ooh Nadia love your hair, love your clothes etc. If Nadia I think started having some heavy duty discussions then she will lose her core audience.
